Single Release: Georgia State Line – Dry My Tears
Melbourne’s great answer to authentic Tennessean Americana, Georgia State Line have been building some serious steam behind them since the release of their debut EP Heaven Knows in July last year. Charging forward, the rapidly rising alt-country act has since been announced to play the 2018 Out On The Weekend Festival and has just revealed their latest single ‘Dry My Tears’. With a successful hometown single launch now under their belt, Georgia State Line is excited to announce a follow-up run of tour dates across the country to continue the celebrations of this brilliant release.
Fronted by formidable Bendigo-born musician Georgia Delves, the group blend vintage and contemporary sounds to create songs that feel warmed and lived-in, with Delves’ insightful storytelling and wise-beyond-her-years song writing a welcome addition and recognised frontrunner of Melbourne’s renewed alt-country scene. Their poignant new single ‘Dry My Tears’ is a testament to the outfit’s seasoned musicianship and a truly remarkable journey that reflects on the distances between where they’ve been and where they’re surely destined to go.
Georgia State Line have been charming audiences with their evocative live presence at festivals across the country with performances at Canberra’s National Folk Festival,Dashville Skyline Festival in The Hunter Valley, as well as a showcase at Australian Music Week 2017. Already in 2018 they band have opened for esteemed country legend Eilen Jewell and Raised By Eagles on the Melbourne legs of their respective Australian Tours and have just been announced as part of the 2018 Out On The Weekend Festival alongside an incredible line up of country legends such as Henry Wagons, Tony Joe White, Courtney Marie Andrews, Margo Price and more.
Along with her incredible new live band that features members of Broads, Patrick Wilson and The Bare River Queens, the Burr Daisy Stringband and more, Georgia is thrilled to be heading off on a run of full band shows and festival performances across a massive state-crossing single launch tour this October and November.
