Single Release: Emma Beau – Wild Heart
Debuting at #5 on the iTunes country singles chart upon release, Wild Heart is the first single dropped from alt-country/Americana artist Emma Beau’s forthcoming self-titled debut album set to be independently released in early 2019, with the official music video launching at the Royal Hotel, Gympie, Emma’s hometown.
Wanting to use as many local’s as possible for the album (photographers, clothing designers, equipment hire and the like), the video was directed and produced by Gympie filmographer, Jazmyn Smith.
“We shot the video in and around Gympie – the pine forests you see in the clip are exactly as I dreamt when I was writing Wild Heart when I was in a Melbourne hotel room playing fiddle for Jon English. I was homesick and kept thinking about how I wanted to drive through the pines again – so here we are!” – Emma Beau
The forthcoming debut album was crowdfunded through Pozible with Emma successfully raising $13,000 to turn her dream into a reality.
“I’m so grateful to my crowdfunding team for making this album possible – they are my record label. It’s always in the back of my mind when I make clips, music and do photoshoots…I want my fans to be part of every bit of the process and I think we’ve achieved that.” – Emma Beau
Recorded in Sydney at Love HZ studios with award-winning record producer, Michael Carpenter, the tracks have a distinct 70’s nostalgic feel, combining together parts of Emma’s musical upbringing, incorporating flavours from her rural Australian childhood, with a dose of Americana styled instrumentation.
A captivating song that draws in the listener with superb strings, Wild Heart, depicts a tale of push and pull between right and wrong without resolve – just a moment in that space of unknown romance.
