Qantas has a long history of partnership with the Grand Prix since Formula One came to Australia in1985. Australian Grand Prix Corporation Chairman, Ronald J Walker, AC CBE said, “We are delighted to have Qantas as our premier partner as it teams the iconic Australian airline with one of Australia’s premier international sporting events.” Qantas Chief Executive, Alan Joyce said Qantas was proud to be the Premier Partner and naming rights sponsor of the 2010 FORMULA 1 QANTAS AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX. "Qantas has sponsored the Grand Prix since its arrival in Australia in 1985 and we are pleased to reaffirm our support for this global sporting event, reaching Formula One fans worldwide.” 2010 is set to be one of the most exciting seasons of Formula One racing yet. Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher will come out of retirement and take to the track against Australia’s own Mark Webber at speeds in excess of 300 kilometres per hour. This year there will be not one, but two massive concerts at Albert Park with Powderfinger on Saturday night and Simple Minds on Sunday night starting immediately after the racing action finishes. Do not attempt to climb the fences. ************************************************************ **Freestyle Motorcross Champion Robbie Maddison launches at Albert Park** Freestyle Motorcross Champion Robbie Maddison used Pit Straight as a runway to launch from a kicker ramp over the starting gantry at a clearance height of 7.2 metres.
