:: Celebrity Cocktail With A Cause

The Loft at King Street Wharf created a great idea by holding a celebrity cocktail challenge raising money for charities chosen by the celebrity. The atmosphere was amazing with a chic, wonderful cruisey vibe.

The three celebrities of the evening were Lyndsey Rodrigues (TV personality), Maz Compton (Radio Nova 96.9) and Kyle Linahan (Channel V). These celebrities created their own tasting cocktail and guests were fortunate to enjoy these cocktails before the presentation. Among the guests were Channel V presenters, Models and Foxtel presenters.

The event was not over crowded and a delight to move around the room take in the view and seat on the balcony and have the opportunity to speak to the cocktail celebrities. Once guests indulged in the three complimentary cocktails, the presentation and bidding had started. Each celebrity stepped up on stage and did a demonstration of their signature cocktail.

Firstly, Maz Compton looked gorgeous in a Little Joe dress and named her cocktail ‘Maz Madness’ with Maz’s sense of humour her madness came from not being able to have the free flow of the vodka bottle instead of using a nip pourer! Her choice of charity was ‘Beyond Water’ and Maz raised the highest bid for her cocktail. The least favourite cocktail amongst guests however, her combination was interesting.

Secondly, Kyle Linahan named his cocktail ‘Beach Babe Bliss’. His charity choice went to Oxfam Haiti Earthquake appeal. This cocktail was a second favourite amongst the crowd. It had a refreshing Caribbean taste to it.

Thirdly, the stunning Lyndsey Rodrigues dressed in a black tussled, gold sequined Rachel Gilbert cocktail gown. Her chosen charity was The RSPCA and the name of her cocktail was ‘Lunacy’ it came from her love of the Harry Potter series. This cocktail was clearly a favourite amongst the guests they were the first to leave the trays.

Celebrities raised $300 for their cocktails. These cocktails will be available at The Loft from February through to March. $5 from every cocktail purchased it will be donated to the nominated charity.
