:: Rhythms For Research: Breast Cancer Foundation Charity Event

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

Rhythms for Research was an inaugural event as a means of celebrating an evening of live entertainment and music to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. The event was held at the live entertainment venue Red Bennies, in South Yarra, which is the only location on the south side of Melbourne which comprises all genres of entertainment from Burlesque to Live Bands to themed party nights.

Radio legend Barry Bissell was the MC for the evening. Melbourne musical artists The Original Massive Groovers (OMG's) and newcomer Dani Marie with her 4-piece band showcased their talent. Other performers were the well regarded DJs Miss Goldie and Manchild as well as Ikko Tanikawa, a renowned aerial trapezist, to give the night a full flurry of music and performance variety. Many terrific prizes were won and there was also a silent and live auction.

Full credit to young organisers Jamie and Nadia who joined forces to create this inaugural event (their mothers having passed away to breast cancer), and they're keen to do another one next year.

Here are some photos from the night.
