Music industry talent, celebrities and media attended the celebration at Sydney’s newest and most elite event venue - The Islands, Sydney Harbour. Despite the rain there was a very good turnout. Despite the cold and wet weather conditions it was clear from the start that partygoers were in the mood to celebrate summer the national launch of SLAM Fest. Partygoers arrived via water taxi, which made arrivals throughout the night quite entertaining to watch - boat loads of people arrived all at once and ready to party! A giant inflated SLAM beach-ball greeted guests and provided the backdrop of many photos and the happy, colourful vibe of the night. Guests sipped on Midori cocktails and Coronas and canapes by Citronello took on a summer/seafood delicacies theme. Model/DJ Kate Elsworth, Mr Bongolicious and DJ Cadell all took turns helping the crowd tear up the dance-floor well past the official end of the event. The party, which took place on The Island, a floating platoon on Sydney Harbour, saw the crowd delighted when the venue's barge broke down - which meant the crowd were given an extra three hours on the Island to celebrate. Now the party moves to St.Kilda on Saturday, December 17. SLAM St Kilda will feature a roll-call of talent including the hottest emerging DJs and Aussie bands, elite volleyball players and local celebrities. Amy Meredith, Stafford Brothers, Timmy Trumpet and Chardy will be amongst those headlining the day along with a bunch of local DJs making sure the party continues well beyond the court action. Channel V will be on the beach to capture the action both on and off the court, also bringing their Inflatable Silent Dome for those eager to start the party before dark.
