Q & A

Q. What is your family background?

A. I grew up in Russia with my parents, sister and three dogs. My father is USSR UFC champion fighter, ex policeman in criminal affairs and a lawyer; my mother is a designer. Since my family had to travel a lot due to dad’s work I changed four schools and five cities until 17 years old that helped me a lot to adapt fast in any environment with new people and lifestyle. I moved to Sydney after high school at the age of 17 and I must say Australia became my second home and will stay forever in my heart as one of the most incredible happenings in my life.

Q. Did you grow up in your early teens wanting to be a model?

A. To be honest, I never thought of it. My family is very conservative, so modelling was not taking very seriously. I started music school specialising in piano at the age of 6 and completed it at 14 with Diploma of Excellence. I was also training at the dance school for ballroom dancing, gymnastics and competing in sports competitions for schools and states for long distance running and long jumps. Modelling became a big part of me just a couple of years ago when after completing Bachelor of Social and Political sciences at the University of Sydney I finally had free time to do some shoots that I was asked to advertise for clothing brands and runway shows. Since being a dancer I wasn't a stranger to a camera, I achieved great results and wanted to do it more and get my self exposed to different type of modelling whether its a beauty, bikini, bridal, high end fashion or fitness. You really have to try out a few ‘genres’ of modelling to see what you can be good at.

Q. How did you get your break in the modelling industry?

A. Beauty competitions made a massive influence on my modelling career. I was crowned Miss Russia Australia 2017 and Miss NSW Face of Origin 2017. I got top 5 Maxim Swimsuit Model of the Year 2017 and 3rd place at Miss Northern Beaches 2016 was my first competition. I got asked to work for commercial projects, editorials, beauty, bikini, bridal, fitness shoots that made me grow fast within the industry and getting my name out there and have my Instagram growing daily. The Leader, my local Shire paper, has been doing editorials and interviews with me that also gave me a big push and support in the industry.

Q. What have you discovered/ learnt from the modelling scene?

A. What I have learnt so far is not to take “No” at the castings - personally. Specific projects and jobs are looking for the faces they have in their mind; you just cant please everyone. Also, modelling is as hard as any other job and does require good personality, right attitude and dedication to get yourself to the level where you can make good money and build a strong portfolio.

Q.Career highlights to date?

A. As I mentioned before, I was crowned Miss Russia Australia 2017, Miss NSW Face of Origin 2017, Top 5 Maxim Swimwear Model of the Year 2017, Top 6 Miss Supercars 2016, 1st Runner Up Miss Fit Bikini Australia, 2nd Runner Up Miss Northern Beaches 2016, featured for Individual Cover for Maxim Magazine Calendar 2018, Ambassador for Skino2 Australian Skin Care and Make-up, Toni&Guy Cronulla Ambassador, Tan By Lucy Lane Ambassador, not to mentioned numerous high profile works with photographers for editorial and commercial work, bikini, beauty, fitness, bridal, lifestyle photoshoots and runway shows. I also had the pleasure and luck to meet Grant Dwyer who is managing a long standing reputable business - ADPRO Management Group and Global Style Australia. Grant has been responsible for arranging and managing photoshoots with high profile photographers and celebrity designers like Rose Noir and OOGII that opened up more doors in the industry and Brand Ambassador opportunities.

Q. Favorite Hobbies?

A. Playing piano, reading books, dancing and fitness.

Q. Favorite music?

A. Since I am a dancer and do dance in different styles, I am very diverse in my taste with music. But I must admit I am a big fan of Rihanna

Q. Favourite films?

A. ‘Seven Pounds’ with Will Smith

Q. Beauty tips?

A. Fitness will keep you in good shape. Keep in your bag water spray/mists for face for constant hydration especially during your interstate or international flights. Try to avoid using make-up when off your shooting days. Sleep is a key to good skin tone and ‘fresh’ widely opened eyes.

Q. What are your favourite brands?

A. I love GUESS collections. I've been a big fan of fitness wear since I dance and run my personal training classes (I am also a qualified Personal Trainer) - Lorna Jane and Nike are my favourites and I love Honey Birdette collections and Victoria Secret.

Q. What is your fashion sense?

A. I do believe that the person makes the outfit, not the other way around. So you don't have to spend thousands of dollars to look like a million dollar doll.

Q. What do you feel sexiest wearing?

A. I will go for my forever favourite gym wear.

Q. Advice for young girls aspiring to be models?

A. Look at yourself in the mirror, rehearse and improvise your poses and face expressions and see what looks the best. Be confident in your own body and skin as the camera can see everything. And of course enjoy what you do, as this is the only way to get the greatest results on the lenses of the camera.

Q. What’s the craziest thing that you’ve done?

A. I think my life is pretty crazy in itself. But I must admit getting a one way ticket to Australia at the age of 17 with no family or friends and no English made me the person who I am now.

Q. Whats the funniest pick up line you’ve encountered?

A. I have been lucky enough to have a few funny guys come up with great pick up lines. However I still believe the guy who was meeting me at the train station at a certain time every morning was the best. He told me that if I randomly see him ten times - he deserves the date as it’s a ‘sign’ from ‘above'.

Q. Favourite place visited?

A. I love travelling and have been to a lot of incredible places in Europe and Asia. I would say Italy has been one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to.

Q.What are the biggest challenges you have overcome?

A. I used to stutter really bad when I was a kid and never went to kindergarten so I was quite a shy person. I faced my problems from early age and made myself practice a lot to get rid of it. I still read books out loud to practice and my Political and Social Sciences Degree did help me with public speaking which became an important part during any public appearances or interviews that I currently do.

Q. Are there any issues that you feel strongly about and would like to briefly discuss?

A. I do like charities and I am a member of Save the Children Australia so I would like to make a difference and change the lives of kids so they can have a better future..or at least change a life of one kid at least. I also donate my clothes every 3-4 months as a little giveaway for those who need them more than me. Moreover, I am opening my Fitness/Dance Studio in a few weeks where a part of the dance classes fee will go to the Charity Organisation.

Q. Future ambitions?

A. As mentioned above, I am opening my fitness/dance studio in Sutherland Shire where I will run classes predominantly focusing on kids and females. I also run an entertainment business that involves dance shows, kids entertainment, singers and live music performances. Modelling is still a priority these days as I still have a good 3-4 years to push myself and do my 110% in the career.
