:: Spotlight :: 2017 World Supermodel Final in Macau

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

Melbourne professional model Alison McNamara will be representing Australia at the upcoming 10th International World Supermodel Final in Macau, China. The event also incorporates an International Fashion Week and runs from May 21-28, 2017.

Alison is the first ever model of Asian heritage to have won an Australian modelling title, having succeeded in the Miss Teen Australia Title in 2016.
It's a great coup for this young Melbourne woman who is in her third year of studying Communications and Public Relations at Swinburne University.

On May 21, up to 50 of the world’s top models are heading to Macau to compete for the World Supermodel and World Teen Supermodel titles – this production will also highlight an International fashion week that will be held at the Iconic landmark and Venue – the Macau Tower from Wednesday May 24 to Saturday May 27 - showcasing designers on May 24, Swimwear / Sportswear May 25th and Bridal Wear on May 26.

As part of her title Alison will be a Brand Ambassador for Black and White Boutique Melbourne, Rose Noir Evening Wear, Maui Jim Sunglasses, Fusion Sound Systems, Oogii Shoes and Handbags, Horizon Super Yachts, Aussie Elite, as well as being an Official Fashion Ambassador for Global Style.

Grant Dwyer has been the Australian Licence Holder for World Supermodel Australia since 2011 with each of the Australian Adult category winners placing 4th, 2 x 3rd , 2 x Runner-ups and 1 World Supermodel Teen Winner and 2 x World Supermodel Oceania Adult Winners.

Mr Dwyer, the founder of ADPRO Management Group, has been instrumental in advising, preparing and launching the careers of Jennifer Hawkins, Rachael Finch, Jesinta Franklin (nee Campbell), Esma Voloder, Lauryn Eagle, Jessica Kahawaty, Natalie Roser, Taylor Curry, Claire Parker and many others.

World Supermodel Australia is a fantastic modelling event for aspiring models to gain the skills, advice, networking, confidence and PR to launch their careers both in Australia and at an International level. A number of World Supermodel Australia entrants have gone on to win or get runner up at modelling events such as Miss Universe Australia or Miss World Australia.

Last year’s Miss Grand International Winner Claire Parker also nurtured her career by first winning Miss Teen Australia and then placing Runner-up in World Supermodel Australia in 2011, as well as Top 5 at Miss Universe Australia.

Former Miss Teen Australia Winner Esma Voloder went on to win both the World Supermodel International Title as well as Miss Supranatural International and placed Runner-up in last year’s Miss World Australia.
