Hair Expo opens at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour, throughout the Queen’s Birthday long weekend - Saturday, June 9 to Monday, June 11, 2007.

Check out the massive exhibition space where up to 30,000 industry professionals and members of the public will discover the latest cuts, colours and styles for 2007. Watch exciting live hair and fashion shows, try the hottest accessories, tools and gadgets or simply shop for sunglasses, jewellery, cosmetics and other beauty products.

This year sees an amazing line up of international hairdressing talent hitting our shores:

• Rodney Cutler, an Australian hairdresser, who hit the big time in Manhattan, has his own chain of salons, spends his free time competing in Iron Man triathlons and is a regular style commentator on US TV

• Adam Reed, Artistic Manager for Charles Worthington in the UK who includes Sienna Miller, Uma Thurman, Kim Cattrall, Jude Law and Jamie Oliver on his extensive client list

• Carolyn Newman - the UK’s leading haircolour specialist who works with celebs including Paloma Picasso, Jennifer Love-Hewitt and Marie Helvin

The Monday evening grand finale will also see the 22nd Hair Expo Australian Hairdresser of the Year crowned in the country’s most prestigious and longest running hairdressing awards. Will 2005 and 2006 winner, Sydney’s, Brad Ngata, make this year a hat-trick? Or will finalists Mick Luppino, Jayne Wild and Shane Henning, also from Sydney, Tracey Hughes, Joey Scandizzo and Caterina DiBiase from Melbourne, Adam Noble from Canberra. Oscar Cullinan from Brisbane and Damien Rinaldo from Adelaide take out the crown?

Ann-Maree Mason, Event Manager for Hair Expo said; “Hair Expo 2007 has been themed “License to Thrill” - and we’ll be making sure there’s something for every thrill-seeker that comes through the door this year! Hair Expo is the ultimate celebration of the hairdressing industry’s passion, creativity and vitality. There are around 65,000 hairdressers in Australia and between us we get to share people’s wants, needs and even their dreams – there’s no other job like it!”
