By: Carmine Pascuzzi

Australian Exhibitions & Conferences, organiser of the Australian Shoe Fair, has announced plans to move the August footwear buying event to a new September timing. The move, which will result in the Australian Shoe Fair sitting alongside the Autumn Winter Fashion Exposed fair, is set to create a new and complete buying opportunity for the 4,000 plus visitors to the event.

Managing Director of AEC Marie Kinsella commented, “The decision to move the Autumn Winter instalment of the Australian Shoe Fair was based on demand from retailers and the footwear industry. By positioning the event at the same time as Fashion Exposed in September, we aim to create a complete offer across apparel, accessories and footwear. Buyers will be more confident of the season’s trends and will be able to see the full spectrum on offer under one roof.”

Remaining at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, the Australian Shoe Fair will be located next door to Fashion Exposed & preview. With its own entrance, the fair will continue to operate independently, requiring registration for entry.

While plans are being finalised for the Melbourne Fair, AEC can confirm the Spring Summer Australian Shoe Fair will continue to hold its strong position in February in Sydney. “Spring Summer is the strongest season for our buyers and February is the ideal time to get the season underway.

With many of the footwear majors and a host of new labels already confirming their participation, it is going to be an exciting year for the Australian Shoe Fair. For further information on the Australian Shoe Fair please visit here
