David Jones is thrilled to welcome home four of Australia’s hottest exports: Catherine McNeil, Nicole Trunfio, Kristy Hinze and Cheyenne Tozzi for the highly anticipated David Jones Summer 2007 Collections Launch.

Led by David Jones Ambassador, Megan Gale, the recently announced Ambassador for Young Designers, Elyse Taylor, Catherine, Nicole, Kristy and Cheyenne will all walk exclusively for David Jones representing Australia’s most celebrated designers.

“Along with our David Jones Ambassador Megan Gale, and our Ambassador for Young Designers Elyse Taylor these girls bring to the catwalk a supercharged element of excitement. To have our David Jones designers represented by internationally renowned Australian models creates a perfect synergy with which to launch our Summer season”, said Colette Garnsey, David Jones Group General Manager Apparel, Cosmetics, Accessories and Footwear.

Catherine McNeil
2007 represents Catherine McNeil’s coming of age in more ways than one. Upon relocating from Sydney to New York in January, she scored an exclusive editorial contract with world-renowned photographer Mario Testino just days after touching down. The Peruvian star-maker instantly declared “Catherine has got what it takes to be an amazing model” and proved it by shooting her for prestigious titles V magazine and French Vogue.

It wasn’t the only time Catherine has stolen the hearts of the fashion set. Touted as the biggest discovery of the autumn-winter 2007/08 ready-to-wear collections in New York, Milan and Paris earlier this year, Catherine walked for more than 35 designers. Givenchy, Chanel, Christian Dior, Balenciaga, Christian Lacroix, Lanvin, Fendi, Stella McCartney and Jean Paul Gaultier were among those scrambling to book her, frequently bestowing the privilege of opening and closing their shows. She was, quite simply, the only one to watch.

Major advertising contracts followed. Catherine currently stars in global campaigns for Versace, Hugo Boss, D&G and Donna Karan making her one of the most sought-after models in the world at just 18 years old.

Nicole Trunfio
Soon after Nicole starred as ‘the new face’ at Australian Fashion Week in 2003 walking in over 19 shows, she flew out of Australia to complete a sensational first show season in New York, Milan and Paris appearing in 47 shows representing international designers including Chanel, Versace, Valentino, Gucci, Fendi, Missoni, Roberto Cavalli and Dolce and Gabbana, a huge coup for a new face on the international modelling circuit.

Nicole has shot international campaigns for Tommy Hilfiger, Sisley, DKNY, Neiman Marcus, Kenneth Cole and Trussadi. A favourite of Karl Lagerfeld’s (he shot her for Australian Vogue), she has appeared all over the world in leading glossy magazines including British, Japanese, Italian, German, Russian and French VOGUE and is regularly shot for American Harper’s Bazaar and Flair by noted leading fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier.

Nicole recently completed the couture shows in Paris and has appeared in campaigns for Lacoste, Victoria’s Secret and the face of Pantene. With her sights also set on acting, Nicole has just completed her first year of acting school.

Kristy Hinze
Discovered at age 14, Kristy has gone on to grace numerous covers of leading international and Australian publications and complete successful show circuits in New York. Kristy has also been the face of leading campaigns such as diesel and Givenchy body cream and Decleor. In 2001 Kristy was flown to the Bahamas to shoot for world renowned international label Victoria’s Secret.

At home in Australia, Kristy turned heads when she appeared in the Tigerlily show at the 2001 Australian Fashion Week wearing a $6 million diamond encrusted bikini and python snake around her neck! She has also appeared at the brand ambassador for iconic Australian label Berlei and has shot campaigns for Country Road. This season, will see Kristy as the face of the Summer 2007 Sportscraft campaign.

Cheyenne Tozzi
In Cheyenne’s short five years of modelling she has worked with some of the most established photographers including Sam Haskins, Ben Watts and Richard Bailey. Cheyenne has graced the pages of Harpers Bazaar, Cosmo and has regularly appeared on the pages of both Australian and US Cleo.

Based in New York, Cheyenne is no stranger to travelling, returning home to Australia to shoot campaigns for Bonds youth, Baku Swimwear and Just Jeans.

Cheyenne has a long-standing relationship with David Jones, walking the runway in 2004 as the Ambassador for Young Designers alongside Linda Evangelista. More recently, Cheyenne appeared alongside Megan Gale in the David Jones Winter 2007 ‘Street of Dublin’ fashion campaign shot in Ireland.
