Always a leader in presenting the very best of Australian designers and setting the trends for the season ahead, David Jones brought its Winter 2008 ‘A Japanese Story’ campaign alive in Sydney recently.

An impressive line-up of Australia's most celebrated designers and exclusive members of the David Jones Fashion Family were on show, including Arthur Galan, Alannah Hill, Alex Perry, Alice McCall, Calibre, Collette Dinnigan, Easton Pearson, Fleur Wood, George Gross, Ginger & Smart, Kirrily Johnston, Lisa Ho, Morrissey, Sabatini, Sally Smith, Scanlan & Theodore, Simona, Trelise Cooper, Thurley, Willow and Zimmermann, as they took to the runway to unveil their Winter 2008 collections stocked exclusively at David Jones.

Innovative designers sass & bide created the spectacular opening and Akira, appropriately for the Japanese theme, presented the coveted finale.

But all eyes were on David Jones Ambassador, Megan Gale, as she returned to the runway to showcase the hottest trends. This year's collection is particularly special as Megan is celebrating her final season on the runway. Appropriately, the Melbourne collection launch on February 27 will be her final catwalk appearance for David Jones.

Approximately 600 VIP's, celebrities, designers and media were invited to the Sydney event, including Delta Goodrem and Brian McFadden, George Miller, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Sonia Kruger, Terry Biviano and Anthony Minichiello, Gai and Robbie Waterhouse, Paul Mac, Kate Waterhouse and Luke Ricketson, Maggie Tabberer, Kirk Pengilly and daughter April Rose, Jodhi Meares, David Jones Chief Executive Officer Mark McInnes and Group General Manager Apparel Colette Garnsey.

Creative Director Mike Mizrahi transformed the Royal Hall of Industries into a setting from Tokyo.
