David Jones presented the very best of Australian designers at the 2005 Winter Collections launch in March. The Melbourne city store was the place to be where many from the Australian fashion and showbiz industries gathered to celebrate the arrival of the upcoming season's designs from such people as sass & bide, Alannah Hill, Willow, Bare by Rebecca Davies, Mimco, Calibre, AG, Sabatini, George Gross, Morrissey, Akira, Jayson Brunsdon, Easton Pearson, and Trelise Cooper. Collette Dinnigan provided the finale this time.

There was a Spanish feel to the overall atmosphere and the VIP guests enjoyed the Moet & Chandon champagne as they viewed some stunning clothes. David Jones ambassador Megan Gale again headlined the event and appeared on the catwalk several times, looking exquisite as always. Young anbassador Ilona Novacek made a distinct impression too, as she looked angelic in her catwalk appearances. She has a big modelling future ahead.
