In a first for Australia, a stunning display of Belgian fashion will be presented at preview, the chic designer label fair held concurrently with Fashion Exposed.

Ten leading fashion houses from the country renowned for cutting-edge design will present their Spring-Summer 2007 collections at Fashion Exposed + preview to be held at the Sydney Exhibition Centre, March 11-13, 2007.

The Belgian group will mark the launch of preview’s Guest Country program. Each season, a designated country will be showcased at Australia’s largest fashion fair through a display in the exhibition area and an exciting runway show.

“We are thrilled that Belgium was chosen as preview’s inaugural Guest Country,” said Natalie Surmont, the Sydney-based Commissioner for Flanders Investment and Trade. “The chance to participate in Belgium’s first fashion presentation in Australia created tremendous interest. As a result, we have been able to put together an elite group – seven for the catwalk show, plus three other top labels for the exhibition.”

Leading the Belgians in the show to be staged on Monday, March 12, will be Brussels-based icon Kaat Tilley and 29-year-old Antwerp wunderkind Tim Van Steenbergen.

Both regularly show in Paris and are renowned for their innovative work in areas ranging from jewellery and fine art, to stage, film and television, as well as fashion.
