By: Carmine Pascuzzi

A little bit of Provence comes to Melbourne this month when internationally adored French fashion label Cannisse showcases its latest ranges of chic women's clothes and accessories at Australasia’s premier trade fashion event, FASHION EXPOSED (August 29-31, 2010).

Cannisse has been hand-picked as part of a special delegation of premium French labels to be shown in preview, which promotes the most innovative
and enticing high-end brands to grace the Australian and global markets. Two runway shows – on 12 noon on Sunday, August 29 and 1.00pm Monday, August 30 at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre – will enable fashion buyers, industry and media to experience first-hand the stunning fabrics and
asymmetrical lines from Cannisse's Spring/Summer 2010 and Autumn/Winter 2011 collections.

Cannisse's Spring/Summer 2010 collection of 80 pieces in 7 colours and 5 prints is in stores nationally from August 2010. The collection features natural tones and white hues highlighted by soft colours such as petal and dusk. Each hand-crafted piece is unique and reflects the brand’s contemporary and chic casual style.

“Cannisse has always been about elegant clothes designed to flatter a woman's body thanks to their asymmetrical lines and free-flowing shapes resulting in an incomparable fit. A highlight for spring/summer is that we have brought. Jute back into the collection – the fabric that originally secured the brand’s enviable reputation almost 30 years ago,” says Franck Dulguerian, Cannisse's Export Manager who will attend FASHION EXPOSED 2010.

With just two ranges created each year, for spring/summer and autumn/winter, Cannisse's garments and complementing accessories such as bags, belts and scarves reflect a trans-seasonal approach to fashion. Cannisse prides itself on using only the best natural fibres and fabrics to provide garments that ensure maximum quality, comfort and wearability. The core of Cannisse’s collection is exclusively made out of the finest linen and cotton. The knitwear range is principally made out of natural yarns, boiled wool and virgin wool.

Co-located with the Australian Shoe Fair and the Bags and Accessories Fair, the FASHION EXPOSED & preview 2010 fashion event will have over 1500 new and cutting edge ranges in womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, streetwear and more.
