By: Carmine Pascuzzi

The Beautiful Girls Fashion Lunch on Wednesday, March 4 has become a ‘must attend’ event on the social calendar and marks the beginning of the exciting Flemington Festival of Racing. This stylish luncheon will see over 600 fashionable guests descend upon Flemington to enjoy an afternoon of fabulous autumn fashions and entertainment.

The event, in conjunction with the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival and the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, will be hosted by Channel Seven’s Rebecca Maddern from Seven News and Hamish McLachlan from AFL Game Day and includes a performance by the very popular and outgoing Leo Sayer.

Leo Sayer’s music career began in the late 60’s with a string of local hits in his hometown UK. He became a household name but it was his hit single “Long Tall Glasses” that broke him into the lucrative US market with the song reaching the Top Ten singles in 1975. In 1976 with the release of ‘Endless Flight’ which featured number one hit singles “You Make Me Feel Like Dancing” and “When I Need You” Sayer proved he was a talent that was here to stay. This record became his biggest hit, selling over a million copies in the US and UK. Sayer moved to Australian in 2005 and on Australian Day this year, he became an Australian Citizen.

The Beautiful Girls Fashion Lunch will also offer guests a unique opportunity to preview this season’s latest fashion creations by Australia’s leading designers and milliners. The exclusive MYER 2009 Autumn Racewear Collection will feature garments from camilla & marc, Jayson Brunsdon, Toni Maticevski, Nicola Finetti, Nevenka and Yeojin Bae.
