By: Carmine Pascuzzi

Melbourne Central will confirm its position as one of the city’s finest fashion and entertainment destinations as it activates the first of many exciting events to celebrate the 2009 L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF).

As part of its LMFF program, Melbourne Central will present four consecutive Friday Nights of Fashion events throughout March and April offering fashion worshippers the chance to experience a slice of shopping heaven. Customers will be invited to enjoy a glass of bubbly, while viewing new Autumn/Winter 09 Collections in store on Levels 1 and 2. Specific retailers will also be offering discounts of up to 25% on the evening. Complimentary beauty services will be available from Napoleon and Chi Link massages will offer customers an opportunity to unwind and relax while shopping.

Acclaimed vocalist Ella Thompson will be performing in conjunction with leading Melbourne DJ Kevin Van Eede at the first of the events on Friday, March 13. Ella Thompson recently toured the country with Renee Geyer, Paul Kelly, Diesel and Mavis Staples and is quickly gaining credibility as a truly talented and emerging young artist. “Melbourne Central is thrilled to be hosting Ella Thompson and we are all looking forward to watching her perform live for the enjoyment of our customers,” said Scott Meehan, Centre Manager of Melbourne Central.

Friday 20 March is designer night and Melbourne Central will welcome Peter Alexander in store, along with fashion designers Arthur Galan of Arthur Galan AG, Monica Lim of Fame Agenda and much loved Italian menswear designer, Dom Bagnato. Dom Bagnato will be on hand to design Sartoria-custom made suits for the coming winter, offering a selection of classic and seasonal fabrics, with your choice of style, lining and buttons. “Friday Nights of Fashion are testimony to the breadth and strength of what we believe is the best fashion, beauty and lifestyle retail offer in Melbourne,” said Meehan.

These fabulous fashion events are free and should not to be missed. After a hard-working and hectic week, come along to Melbourne Central’s Friday Nights of Fashion and start planning your Autumn/Winter wardrobe.

The line-up for the four weeks is:
