:: Spotlight :: Lisa Barron 30 Years, The Art of Fashion exhibition

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

Lisa Barron 30 Years: The Art of Fashion exhibition occurred in March at the Metro Gallery. It was a marvellous celebration for the iconic fashion designer who has cemented herself as one of Australia's finest. Lisa was thrilled to celebrate with so many special people.

An exquisite piece by celebrated painter Vincent Fantauzzo of Lisa's daughters, Isabella and Elsa, titled Picnic at Hanging Rock, hangs in pride of place. Fashion Illustrator Angie Rehe interpreted key pieces from the Lisa Barron Winter 2013 in stylish and vibrant illustrations. Photographer Andrew Gash, in collaboration with super stylist Virginia Dowzer, created an avant guard series of fashion editorial prints with models dressed in garments from the Lisa Barron archives. All artworks are for sale.

Nicky Buckley, Lisa's long time friend and muse, was the perfect hostess for the evening. She recounted an infamous fashion moment the pair shared; a pregnant Nicky taking to the runway in a asymmetric Lisa Barron gown with a heart cut-out on her belly.

Here are some images of the occasion by Des Pitfield.
