It's that time again and the Rosemount Australian Fashion Week is almost upon us. It has been moved forward to make the week September 4-10 a fashion spectacular in Melbourne.

September 4 to September 6 marks the newly-sponsored Rosemount Australian Fashion Week 2006/2007 Transeasonal Collections and Swimwear label MaraJoara will play a big role in it. It's a great thrill for the label and they delayed LyonModeCity in France so they could launch their new collection on home turf!

MaraJoara is an Australian Swimwear label that took the country by storm last summer as part of Sportsgirl's “Girl of Ipanema” campaign. After a whirlwind trip around the world researching international markets, MaraJoara launched itsMercedes Australia Fashion Week 2006/2007 Spring/Summer collection showing their own designer talents after more than 30 years in-house experience of white label manufacturing to many of the largest retailers in the world including Bloomingdales, Marks and Spencer, Victoria Secrets and Parfois.

September marks the launch of the “Meninas” and “Ultimate Surf” range. MaraJoara is the exclusive provider of Swimwear to the Mr and Miss World Competitions to 2008. Their Ultimate Surf Swimwear is the National Dress of Australia and will be viewed by more than 2.8 billion people around the world throughout the month long competitions.

2006/2007 Spring/Summer runway model, 22 year old Mickson Silva Guedes was found on Manly Beach not one week after his arrival from Brazil. Since his discovery he has been the MaraJoara in-house model for the Australian Fashion Week “Source” Expo, strutted his stuff on the Spring/Summer runway, been shown on Fashion TV all over the world and had his pictures appear in AustralianTrend Magazine.

Mickson was also the “Oxford Man” used in the Miss World Australia Swimwear Photo Shoot. His swimwear is now worn exclusively by Australian Olympian Beach Volleyball players Brett Richardson and Julian Prosser.
He says, “I love Australia! The last four months has really been amazing!”
