This April marks the 18th annual Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. With the move to its new venue in Sydney, ‘Carriageworks,’ the event will celebrate fashion, art and culture under one roof. This season will bring inspiration and innovation together both on and off the runway with a standout line-up of designers, event enhancements and a full week of varied programs off the catwalk.

“IMG Fashion is thrilled with the exciting new additions and upgrades made possible by the move of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia to Carriageworks,” said Jarrad Clark, Director of Global Production, IMG Fashion Events and Properties. “By pioneering original digital innovations, and building on the success of previous seasons, we continue to provide an internationally recognized platform for Australian designers, ensuring increased exposure to a worldwide audience.”

The new event space houses three exceptional showrooms boasting world-class facilities. The traditional runway space will work alongside our multi-purpose and flexible venues The Box and The Theatre, catering to each designer’s individual needs and creative specifications.

This season, a purpose built onsite photo studio will mean designers can shoot their look books immediately following their show. Designers and brands will also be able to utilize the new dedicated seminar space to screen original film and video content throughout the event week, allowing them to showcase their brand in a unique way to attendees beyond the runway. The versatile space doubles as an onsite conference room providing even more facilities for partners and brands to conduct business onsite.

The increased size and facilities at Carriageworks, enables Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia to now co-locate with the esteemed designer trade fair ‘Premiere’. Here, Spring/Summer wholesale collections will be sold directly to registered buyers of both events, increasing local and international buyer attendance to Sydney and extending valuable connections within the industry. Premiere will also play host to a series of eye-opening fashion business seminars and educational forums led by experts from around the globe onsite within the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia facilities.

The innovation goes beyond the physical event space, and extends into the digital program with global social media channels transporting the excitement from the front row directly to the world within seconds of it taking place on the runway. Building on IMG Fashion's diverse and wide ranging expertise in the global marketplace, this year more than ever, groundbreaking digital innovations will engage consumers with the action from the exclusive industry only event.
