By: Carmine Pascuzzi

Organisers are pleased to announce that the dates for this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival – Brisbane, hosted by South Bank are Saturday, August 7 to Friday, August 13, 2010. Celebrate fashion glamour, creativity and accessibility as the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival is set to once again showcase Queensland’s spectacular and diverse fashion market.

Following the phenomenal success of the 2009 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival, and in just four short years this event has positioned itself as the premier fashion showcase in Queensland and it was a natural progression to move to South Bank with its magnificent vistas, cultural and retail precincts. To capitalise on the growing interest in these ‘consumer-driven’ fashion events and to allow more people an opportunity to experience the Festival, a large marquee with raked seating and a 30 metre runway will be housed in the Cultural Forecourt, South Bank.

Showcasing an eclectic mix of the best Spring/Summer fashion collections by more than 50 top local, national and international designers and retailers in Queensland, the Festival will feature broad-appeal fashion merchandise through to independent ready-to-wear designer labels available in-store and ready for customers to buy.

This year guests can also expect to explore Brisbane’s depth of fashion knowledge, history and innovation via the popular ‘Fashion After Hours’ cultural program in association with the State Library of Queensland which will look at “Couture – Is it still relevant” and “The Current State of Contemporary Australian Fashion”.

Mark Saturday August 7 – Friday August 13 2010 in your calendar now and book your tickets here from May 21 for shows and events located at the magnificent new home situated in the Cultural Forecourt, South Bank and beyond.

Designers and retailers to participate in this year’s Festival are now being sought and the deadline for applications is Monday, May 3, 2010. Applications are available from the official website
