Q. What is your family background?

A. I am Australian born and raised. However I am am told that I have a Japanese background. My sisters say the milk man was my father!

Q. Did you grow up in your early teens wanting to be a model?

A. Like a lot of girls I grew up dreaming of being a model, idolising the women I’d see in magazines. But for me it was a path my mother chose for me. I had been told from a young age that I should be a model, and at 17 my mother decided to push me to take that leap, a push I will forever be grateful for.

Q. What have you discovered / learnt from the modelling scene?

A. Just to be yourself and not worry about other people's judgements. Being in the modelling industry can be tough, you are judged every day and are expected to be somewhat like a Barbie doll with no imperfections… news flash, we’re all human. The main thing I’ve learnt is not to let other peoples judgements get me down. I’m proud of who I am, and I’ve learnt to recognise my strengths and grow upon those. Another thing I’ve learnt from this is to cherish the people who love me for my inner self, and not just a pretty face.

Q. Career highlights to date?

A. My biggest career highlight to date would still be my very first international contract. For me that was a huge leap in my career and a life changing experience. Not only did it enable me to travel the world, but I also had the privilege of meeting so many people who have helped shape who I am today.

Q. Favourite hobbies?

A. I’m an aspiring Interior Designer, and outside of modelling and my studies that is definitely one of my biggest hobbies. Anything related to Design and Fashion I’m extremely interested in. I also love Yoga and Pilates and try to use this as my down time whenever I get the chance.

Q. Favourite music?

A. I love all types of music, though at the moment my favourite artists would have to be London Grammar and Lorde.

Q. Favourite films?

A. I’m a little obsessed with watching murder documentaries, though I must admit I don’t really have much time to sit in front of the TV.

Q. What is your fashion sense?

A. I’m very much a girls girls when it comes to fashion. I love anything feminine, and have a huge fetish for heels. Any chance I get to buy a new outfit and doll myself up, I’ll take it!

Q. Beauty tips?

A. Natural is best. It’s so important to take care of your skin. I don’t leave the house without sunscreen on my face as this is the main cause of ageing and skin damage. I also don’t like to dye my hair, tan, or put too many artificial products on my body. It’s important to learn to love your natural self and not fall for what the media tells you you should be like.

Q. Advice for young girls aspiring to be models?

A. My advice would be to just go in there with confidence and be yourself. You will have people telling you that you need to change certain aspects about yourself, and tell you to do crazy diets etc… don’t do it, don’t fall for it! Don’t let anyone make you feel you’re not good enough the way you are. And if you make it as a professional model, don’t treat others as though you’re better than them. Hold the title with pride, definitely. But always remember that everyone is human and is beautiful inside and out – appearance isn’t everything, and just because you’re a model, doesn’t make you better than anyone else.

Q. Do you think a man should treat a woman like he does his car?

A. Depends on the car. A classic which is housed, loved, and taken out on the weekends, then yes! A commodity which can be easily replaced when a new model comes out, no! If a man has views that she can, and is shallow enough to do so, then he himself is not worthy of having her.

Q. Favourite place visited?

A. The kitten park in Tesvikiye, Istanbul, Turkey. It is full of homeless kittens, which you can visit at any time and feed and cuddle them. It’s absolutely adorable!

Q. Do you have a role model/s?

A. I look up to many women, and meet new people every day who inspire me. But the number one person I look up to is my Mum. She inspires me to strive to be a better person; she has always had full faith in me and supported me through thick and thin. What I most admire about my mum is even through the toughest of situations, she takes them on and comes out even stronger. She never lets anything or anyone beat her down. She is just purely beautiful and inspirational from the inside out.

Q. People you've admired generally?

A. Alongside most people, I admire Miranda Kerr. She is an independent woman and mum, who holds herself gracefully and drives to constantly succeed. Go team Miranda!

Q. Are there any issues that you feel strongly about and would like to briefly mention?

A. Animal cruelty!! I won’t go too much into that but that is the one issue that gets my blood boiling. I’m a vegetarian and have very strong views on animal rights.

Q. Future ambitions?

A. I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Interior Design, and hope to take my knowledge in Fashion, Modelling and Interior Design to Fashion events. One day I’ll be designing the runways of MSFW!
