Q & A

1. What is your family background?

A. My family background is Australian, Chinese and Scottish, so we have a bit of a mix from both my mum and dad's side.

2. Did you grow up in your early teens wanting to be a model?

A. Yes, I did grow up wanting to do showbiz. I got into modelling when I was about 9 and did it for 6 years. From there I also went to a performing school of the arts while doing dancing, singing and media classes for 5 years. I got back into modelling when I was 18.

3. What have you discovered / learnt from the modelling scene?

A. I've learnt criticism comes and goes really easy but experience and dedication doesn't. It is what you make it and you've got to have fun with it too. If you dont have fun it definitely shows in your images. Perseverance and dedication along with constructive criticism can definitely help you in the long run if you use it to the best of your advantage.

4. Career highlights to date?

A. I've done a lot of study and career options that have set me up at a young age. I worked on the mines for three years driving trucks which brought me a brand new car and a big deposit for my house. By the time I was 20 I had completed my cert 1,2,4 in information technology, cert 3, & 4 in business and cert 4 in Human Resources. As for modelling, I am pleased to have been selected as Miss October for the Autobabes 2013 calendar and I was a Zoo magazine national finalist in 2009.

5. Favourite hobbies?

A. Favourite hobbies include shopping, going to the beach, hanging out with friends and photography.

6. Favourite music?

A. I dont have a favourite genre of music. I listen to everything from old rock to new age, hip hop and dance music; but my favourite band is Parkway Drive which shocks some people.

7. Favourite films?

A. Same with films. I dont really have a favourite film but I love scary movies. There's nothing like a good scary movie to get the blood pumping, I also like marvel superhero movies - they're great fun to watch.

8. What is your fashion sense?

A. I don't have a particular dress sense but definitely swap a cute summer dress for short shorts and a singlet every now and then.

9. Beauty tips?

A. Always wash your make up off before you go to bed.

10. Advice for young girls aspiring to be models?

A. Don't worry about all the negative things people have to say about your body image or your photos. Just take into account the constructive criticism that you can use. Have a think about it and how you can use it to better yourself and how it can help you. Most of all be confident and have fun.

11. Do you think a man should treat a woman like he does his car?

A. No, I think a man should treat a lady like everyday with her is his last. Treat her like the princess she is and how she wants to be treated.

12. Favourite place visited?

A. Hawaii is an amazing place.

13. Do you have a role model/s?

A. Miranda Kerr or Nicole Trunfio - both Australian models. Nicole is from my home town in WA - a lovely body and not to skinny - and so confident and ambitious. They can both go a long way in the modelling industry.

14. People you've admired generally?

A. I've generally admired my nan (grandmother) for raising me for 15 years and doing the best she can for me for so long - going that extra mile and paying for things she generally didn't have the money for, but did it anyway because she knew it would get me where I am today.

15. Future ambitions?

A. My future ambitions are to try and further myself in the modelling industry as best I can - to try and get more publishing done and have my house completely paid off in 10-15 years.
