:: Spotlight :: Model Profile - Jacqui Rose

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

From being featured in Custom Tattoo Magazine and acquiring good modelling opportunities with 3030 Style Clothing, FTP Clothing, Honda, DVNT Clothing and other brands, Jacqui Rose has come a long way. The friendly, down-to-earth Melbourne-born model, who now lives on the Gold Coast in Queensland, is enjoying her modelling and has caught our attention with her long hair (she is the Face of Bliss Hair Extensions), captivating eyes and sexy tattoos. In this day where inked models are not taboo, Jacqui is in hot demand for many fashion outlets, and therefore a pleasurable subject for Mediasearch to explore.

Q & A

Q. What is your family background?

A. My mother's side is all Australian. My father's side is Spanish. My father has very dark hair and very dark eyes so I am quite the opposite.

Q. Did you grow up in your early teens wanting to be a model?

A. Yes! It all started when I was approached by an agency when I was about 13. I never thought I had the potential until then.

Q. What have you discovered / learnt from the modelling scene?

A. I think you need to be quite thick skinned. When you are in the public eye people think they have a right to judge or criticise you. Some people like to bring others down simply because they are below you. I struggled with that and sometimes still do. You just have to remind yourself that most of these people are just ‘critics with no credentials’ and their opinion of you is invalid.

Q. Career highlights to date?

A. Before I got tattoos I did runway for some amazing brands such as Bobbi Brown and Kookai. Now that I have tattoos I believe it has given me even more opportunities, just with a different style of modelling which I enjoy more.

Q. Favourite hobbies?

A. Spending time with my man and our little fur baby - he is probably the cutest chihuahua on the planet (maybe I'm biased). I am addicted to eating and online shopping.

Q. Favourite music?

A. I love all music! What I usually listen to would be R&B, hip hop or dance - depending on my mood.

Q. Favourite films?

A. Too many to name! All time favourites would be - Blow, Running Scared or John Wick! Anything with Denzel Washington in it is always good too! Even better if it's a true story!

Q. What is your fashion sense?

A. Oh I love street wear fashion, although you'll never catch me without my hair, make-up and nails done. I like to look girly/pretty even when wearing a snapback.

Q. Beauty tips?

A. For years my mum would tell me to use good quality skin products every night before bed. Wish I listened sooner! Even if your blessed like me and don't really have problem skin, the difference it makes is amazing. Plus make-up always looks flawless when you have healthy skin.

Q. Advice for young girls aspiring to be models?

A. Stay true to yourself. Don't focus on what other models are doing or look like. Be the best version of yourself!

Q. Do you think a man should treat a woman like he does his car?

A. Ha! A man should treat a woman just as well as she treats him.

Q. Favourite place visited?

A. I'm yet to venture out of Australia (I know - shame on me), so my favourite place is Melbourne where I was born and where all my family live. Although I am no longer used to the weather I love everything else about the place!

Q. Do you have a role model/s?

A. No I don't actually.

Q. People you've admired generally?

A. Alena Shishkova and Adriana Lima would have to be two of my favourite models.

Q. Are there any issues that you feel strongly about and would like to briefly discuss?

A. I feel so strongly about suicide prevention and mental illness awareness. I have lost close friends to depression and like to do what I can to help.

Q. Future ambitions?

A. I would love to get into TV ads or extra work. I also want to travel, travel, travel.
