Q & A

Q. What is your family background?

A. My mother is Dutch, my father is Australian and I was born in and have grown up in Sydney.

Q. Did you grow up in your early teens wanting to be a model?

A. I grew up wanting to be an actress, actually. I have always loved to perform and be on stage. When I found myself working in the modelling industry I drew similarities between acting and modelling and quickly discovered how much I love it!

Q. What have you discovered / learnt from the modelling scene?

A. I have worked both in Australia and internationally. I think that the biggest learning curve for me, in my modelling career, was to experience the work ethic of different cultures. As wonderful as the laid back Australian culture is, I was truly blown away by the hard working, passionate and dedicated members of the modelling industry in China and Vietnam.

Q. Career highlights to date?

A. The highlight of my career would have to be when I travelled to South Korea to represent Australia in Miss Super Talent of the World. Each contestant had to have a talent and mine was singing. It was the best feeling in the world to be able to combine my two passions!

Q. Favourite hobbies?

A. My hobbies include going to the beach and spending time with the people that I love!

Q. Favourite music?

A. I have always been in love with country music.

Q. Favourite films?

A. My favourite film is the Sound of Music. Not only do I have a passion for musicals but this movie is an absolute classic!

Q. What is your fashion sense?

A. I like to make an effort everyday with how I dress. I would say my fashion sense is constantly changing as I am always open to new trends and ideas.

Q. Beauty tips?

A. Zinc tablets! These are the best thing in the world. They are a simple vitamin that does wonders for your skin.

Q. Advice for young girls aspiring to be models?

A. I believe a model has to be a woman who is willing to work and work and work Some of the most beautiful models in the world, like Megan Gale, were not initially successful and only achieved success after years of hard work.

Q. Do you think a man should treat a woman like he does his car?

A. This is interesting because many men treat their cars with the utmost respect and care but I do feel that this implies that a woman is therefore an object which I am most definitely not in agreeance with.

Q. Favourite place visited?

A. I have to say Holland. I am half Dutch and visited Holland three months ago and I honestly felt completely at home. The people were beautiful, the atmosphere was incredible and the landscape was breathtaking.

Q. Do you have a role model/s?

A. My role model is probably Megan Gale for, among many other successful models, having the perseverance and stamina to never give up even after being told no.

Q. People you've admired generally?

A. In general I would have to say Angelina Jolie because she is such a strong and impressive woman. She has managed to maintain a happy marriage, care for her six children (three of whom she adopted) and thrive in her career!

Q. Are there any issues that you feel strongly about and would like to briefly discuss?

A. The issue of weight within the modelling industry has always been something that has concerned me until I learnt that the only weight requirement that the industry promotes is a healthy body. I am proud of Australia's modelling industry for their ability to promote health and fitness.

Q. Future ambitions?

A. I plan to take the future one step at a time and achieve goals I set for myself. Ideally I would love to break into the film industry as this has always been my dream!
