:: Spotlight :: Model Profile - Paige Hudson

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

Canadian beauty Paige Hudson first came to our attention when she was voted the Playboy Miss Social in October 2014. She is an experienced model, very versatile in the aspects of glamour, artistic, fashion and implied modelling, and able to articulate herself exceedingly well on some important issues as you'll see below. Paige's endearing and positive nature is something to cherish and it comes across in the numerous campaigns she has been associated with.

Q & A

Q. What is your family background?

A. I grew up third oldest girl in the family and I have one younger brother. My family is very traditional. Growing up, we were always involved in lots of activities, sports, & dance. I loved being on the farm and riding quads, and making home videos as well. I am a mix breed of Irish, English, Swiss, and French Canadian.

Q. Did you grow up in your early teens wanting to be a model?

A. I always wanted to model. I remember when America's Next Top Model TV show came out and I was instantly hooked. I found it amazing the results from shoots and the way the whole industry worked, but I never thought I would actually pursue the dream later on in life.

Q. What have you discovered / learnt from the modelling scene?

A. I have noticed that staying true to yourself is so important. It is easy to get caught up in the fame and money, and obsessing over being “liked” can be the worst of many. Going into it, you need to be aware of who you are and what you are willing/not willing to do. Being yourself and confident is what makes you authentic. You never want to end up in a position where you don't even recognize your own self.

Q. Career highlights to date?

A. Playboy's Miss Social October 2014 was a big one. I got to experience shooting in Los Angeles and partying with some pretty awesome people. Being Featured in For Guys Mag, Surreal Beauty Mag, and Elegance by Pressure. I also was featured in a Canada wide calendar, Shoot Me Now Swimsuit Calendar 2015. I also was a Sunshine girl in the Calgary SUN newspaper local to this area. I love being at events and socializing.

Q. Favourite hobbies?

A. Love to do yoga, play guitar, read books, snowboard, wakeboard or hang out with my son.

Q. Favourite music?

A. My favorite genres are Hip Hop, EDM, or Indie.

Q. Favourite films?

A. Way too many favourites to choose from. To name a few, Garden State, Bowfinger, Sin City, Pulp Fiction, Avatar, Inception, Pineapple Express, Labyrinth

Q. What is your fashion sense?

A. I always love a hint of sexy sophistication. I think my style is slightly classic, and I love anything that is form fitting to my body, and high heels!

Q. Beauty tips?

A. Skin makes such a big difference in your appearance. Having a good skincare regimen will result in youthful looking skin in your later years. My advice? keep your skin always hydrated. Just before bed, and when you get out of the shower.

Q. Advice for young girls aspiring to be models?

A. It is always good to learn beauty tricks, because sometimes you will be required to do your own, and being in the spotlight all the time, you would want to know how to take care of yourself without relying on others.

Q. Do you think a man should treat a woman like he does his car?

A. I sure do! Men love their cars like their own kids, or shoes!

Q. Favourite place visited?

A. I love Jamaica! Such a beautiful country, nice people and good herbs too! The vibes all around were incredible

Q. Do you have a role model/s?

A. I have many role models. Kate Moss is a huge one right now because I can relate to her. She is only 5'7" and rocks the runway like no other. In life, you carry yourself a certain way, and Kate's confidence in herself has put her on top! That's the attitude you need. You can't let things hinder you from being great.

Q. People you've admired generally?

A. I admire people who are kind to others and accept everyone for their differences. Ellen Degeneres is someone I really admire. It's kinda funny but before I make a posting or blog, I always think, “What would Ellen do?” And of course I love watching her shows. She's a real cool lady.

Q. Are there any issues that you feel strongly about and would like to briefly discuss?

A. Canada just elected a new Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau. I am very happy with the change that our country is finally making. I feel that change is good. As you may know, I am a huge Marijuana Advocate and it looks like our new Prime Minister plans to legalize it in the next year. There are many in my area that don't quite understand the potential behind the Cannabis industry. However, you see and hear what it does for people who are extremely ill, including children, and to deny them a medicine that works for them is just wrong. I have been a cannabis user for eight years now and it has made such a positive impact in my life. There is an Australian family that is temporarily in Vancouver right now for their two daughters who have a rare lung disease. Before they came to Canada, the prescription drugs were making the two girls sicker and it was slowly killing them. Now they take two tablespoons of cannabis oil a day; they are off their oxygen; they are happy and healthy and living a life they never thought possible. They hope their prayers can be answered and the Australian government can allow them more time in our country. I am excited for this Industry to thrive, and I hope that more and more see the benefits it brings to our people and communities.

Q. Future ambitions?

A. I recently was able to attend a new award ceremony called the Vigour Awards. They gave out awards to people who have made a difference in our world today. It was such an inspiring event and it got me thinking, “How can I give to others who need help?” That's what I hope to do; to give back to our world and find ways to help those in need. I also plan on getting involved in the film industry more, as well as personal ambitions of getting into better shape and pushing my body's limits in fitness and health.
