A new attitude has emerged, and this set of designers creates a look for now that will spearhead looks for the future. They embrace offbeat chic and flair with their eyes on the contemporary culture of fashion.
Designers on show for the Future Project theme are:
Alpha 60, Arabella Ramsay, Gorman, Kirrily Johnston, Mad Cortes, and Obus.
Tops in white and grey gave the summer feel of the Alpha 60 designs. Fun was also provided in the skirts and trousers in the bold statements made. They continue to experiment and the distinctive patterns and style were marked with their silver mini skirt and full length dresses.
Obus showcased denim shorts and youthful-looking tops and skirts. Striking colours showed the breezy, summer effects.
Gorman showed off some delicate prints in natural colours and several lightweight skirts and shorts. It all looked very playful and easy-going.
Colourfully cute tops, shorts, and vests marked the style of Arabella Ramsay. Good contrast in colours and patterns with tops and leggings.
A more classic look was adopted by Mad Cortes with loose, flowing fabrics interspersed with classic black lines and cute prints.
Kirrily Johnston’s collection was impressive with mainly grey pieces matched with splashes of orange and purple and blue. Good shape and contrast with dresses belted at the waist and in stunning colours. The show ended on a very bright note for this capable designer.
