Melbourne has a fascination in weaving together fashion and art. Some fashion designers do their best in bringing this vision to their work. Under the theme of The Gallery, this fashion parade pointed towards those who show us that life is more interesting when we dare to wear.

Featured designers are:
Ess.Hoshika, Gwendolynne, Manvious, Out With Demons, Richard Nylon, TV, and Vixen.

Knowing the calibre of the designers on show, it promised to be a night of artistic consolidation with lots of flair and dare.

Milliner Richard Nylon opened the show with a dramatic collection featuring stunningly stylish headpieces crafted from feathers in white and red.

T.V presented its pretty basic collection, creating figure-hugging pants to flowing dresses. Black and white dominated the schemes.

“Secret pleasure of the bourgeoisie” was the theme for Ess.Hoshika and it there wasn't much difference in the colours - blacks, whites and browns. The skirts were full length and the tops were pretty loose-fitting.

Manvious presented his usual elegant take on both women’s and men’s clothing - simple and effective with a few subtle variations. Men’s tailored pants featured heavily and the women's wear were well-formed pieces and cream and generally light colours, with some striped patterns.

Out With Demons always seek to explore the unknown and we saw some bold pieces in gold and silver eveningwear. Models were seen in tiaras. The show finished with a veiled model tossing flowers into the audience.

Gwendolynne’s collection is always worth a look and she didn't disappoint with her evening dresses, complete with the Richard Nylon headpieces. The flowing pieces were beautifully constructed.

Vixen opted for an oriental feel with exotic prints and loose-fitting skirts and tanks. Models were accompanied with an oriental musical selection.
