:: Spotlight :: 2016 Melbourne Spring Fashion Week

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

City of Melbourne is proud to present Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) for 2016 – the premier fashion event of the season. Now in its 22nd year, this week-long event positions Melbourne as Australia’s fashion capital with emerging and established designers, retailers and brands showcasing their new season styles. MSFW provides a major boost for Melbourne’s retailers with thousands flocking to the city for exclusive shopping offers and experiences.

After being discovered while holidaying in Port Douglas in 2002, Melbourne actress Isabel Lucas quickly became famous for her starring role as Tasha Hunter on Home and Away. Not long after, Lucas made her way to Hollywood, starring in Michael Bay’s blockbuster The Revenge of The Transformers and the remake of Red Dawn, alongside fellow former Home and Away cast member Chris Hemsworth. Known for her unique, daring style, Lucas has become an Australian fashion icon for her eclectic hippy-meets-Hollywood aesthetic. A regular on the red carpet and in the front row of fashion shows, Lucas is a keen supporter of both high profile and emerging designers, and MSFW is thrilled to welcome the busy actress home as this year’s Melbourne Spring Fashion Week ambassador.
