:: Spotlight :: Model Profile - Rachael Flood

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

One of the local Melbourne beauties I have been fortunate to have known about is Rachael Flood. She has one of those gorgeous, friendly personalities, but also presents herself as an ambitious, entrepreneurial person with a drive to succeed unlike many others. Rachael is a presenter/model who also does some acting. She has been signed to a new show as presenter for the next three years and is a presenter for three other organisations. She has been in the modelling industry for eight years and is always looking for new opportunities.
Rachael was kind enough to participate in a Q&A for Mediasearch.

Q. What is your family background?

A. I am English, Irish and also have Spanish in my bloodline.

Q. Did you grow up in your early teens wanting to be a model?

A. Yes

Q. What have you discovered / learnt from the modelling scene?

A. Lots of dodgy people! Be aware of this and people who want something for nothing.

Q. Career highlights to date?

A. I've enjoyed working with some of Australias best photographers.

Q. Favourite hobbies?

A. Keeping my fitness up to speed and spending time with my dogs.

Q. Favourite music?

A. Lots - have a wide and varied taste in music

Q. Favourite films?

A. I love comedy films

Q. What is your fashion sense?

A. I love shopping in Europe so I love high end pieces - Versace and the likes, as well as mid range like kookai and cue

Q. Beauty tips?

A. Keeping clean inside and out, i.e. clean face, teeth and food! What you put in you get out!

Q. Tell us about your guide to good health?

A. I take supplements to ensure I get what I need on a daily basis and also nutritional powders for extra energy .. I take extra protein and eat lots of fish, chicken and steak as well as fresh fruit and vegetables! I don't eat dairy foods and always drink a lot of water and green tea as well as my herbalife. Herbal tea to flush out any toxins and extra fluid. I also have a health and nutrition business where I can supply you with what I actually take .

Q. Advice for young girls aspiring to be models?

A. Be careful, choose your agent carefully, and maybe do a reality check on yourself. i.e. Am I in shape? Do I have the right look? All these things if you are real with yourself will help you from making unwise decisions and letting people promise you the world only to deliver you an atlas!
Unrealistic expectations are never good.

Q. Do you think a man should treat a woman like he does his car?

A. Ha, better than a car!

Q. Favourite place visited?

A. I love Italy and the south of France

Q. Do you have a role model/s?

A. Megan Gale is great to follow .. She has had a fantastic career and is pretty down to earth.

Q. People you've admired generally?

A. Too many to name.

Q. Future ambitions?

A. Build my business up - www.rlfcoporation.com - as I have a number of projects on the go and working well with my new managers to gain the results I am seeking from modelling / film / tv and possibly relocate overseas.
