:: Spotlight :: Rosemount Australian Fashion Week Wrap

By: Leena Thompson

Another brilliant year thanks to the team at IMG for the Rosemount Australian Fashion Week held at the Overseas Passenger Terminal Circular Quay, Sydney. Rosemount VIP Bar held it's new Botanical range of wines infused with cucumber, apple and blood orange. The new range is extremely tasty and deserves to be trialled. The entrance well decorated with a live greenery lattice with splashes of the fruits used in the wines, another job well done by Nikki Andrews and her team to promote Rosemount.

MAC the official makeup sponsor who made the models look spectacular. Redken, the official hair stylists, kept the models looking sleek and guests looking wonderful with a complimentary hairdressing tent. Miro House ‘as always’ had the seating arrangements and crowds under control.

The ultimate catwalk parade report:
There was a riot of dazzling rainbow brights this season, as sumptuous jewel tones and glowing fluoro's exploded across the collections. Worn in one head-to-toe hue or in boldly clashing mixing combinations. The ultra modern summer's sporting look with the glam spin. See - through fabrics and sheer mesh panels with lots of detail including the zip, leather trims and racer backs. If sporting is not for you then the bohemian inspired look with edging tassels and fringing is big. Homespun handicraft gets glamorous with crochet and embroidery adding texture. Plaiting, weaving and knotting also created character to pieces.

All ladies will be going with the flow this summer. Springs flowing maxi gowns are floaty sheers and tiers of layers around the body and revealing as much as they conceal. Now comes the tangerine dream, zesty shades of orange are all the rage this season to give the ladylike look a vibrant youthful flair. You can tame your tangerine by adding a contrasting rich colour to compliment such as turquoise or hot pink to a glossy gold. The main look for the season is the gathering of pleats, and ruffles. Delicate drapes to add a stylish touch. Artful folds abound, from neat knife pleats to bookish box pleats and multi layered looks are creating new statements. These sleek pleats speak of uptown chic. For those who do not dare snow whites are a comeback for a fresh statement. Clean crisp whites pure as the driven snow gives an innocent feel and cool summer touch. Making the cut is tailored suits and ankle length pant. Distinguishing, delicate and structured formal shoulders. Accessories to match one huge bold piece of jewellery in a vibrant non matching colour, cut off ankle boots or perplex flats. Belts and matching tote handbags add a decorative edge.
