Australian swimwear brand Rochford is set to make waves at the world’s largest swimwear tradeshow – Miami SwimShow 2009 – where it will preview its latest collections to the globe’s bathers buyers. Having caused ripples among international swimwear buyers at the Miami SwimShow in 2007, just a year after it relaunched locally, the glamorous, slightly cheeky label is poised for a warm reception at the show in the heart of trendy South Beach.

Company CEO Brendan Santamaria said, “All international customers we attracted during the previous show were terrific. While we maintain our relationship with them, we look forward to greet our future customers this year.” Over 2,000 buyers from 1,000 stores and 46 key markets attend the show each year in search of the ‘next big thing’ for the cruise season. Santamaria is confident that Rochford is now well and truly ready to rub shoulders with the world’s most prestigious swimwear lines. “For the past two years, Rochford’s return in the Australian market has generated remarkable response from its target market.”

The collection captures the spirit of Australian women, with subtle detailing and progressive international colours and silhouettes. Santamaria added, “Rochford’s triumph shows its strong potential, which we believe will continue to rise internationally.”

Despite its focus on global expansion, Rochford is not abandoning the market it dominated under the ‘Brian Rochford’ title in the 1980s and 1990s. The brand recently partnered with Australia’s oldest department store, Myer, which will stock the collections nationally. While Rochford’s feminine, innovative designs speak for themselves, the Miami SwimShow is integral to the brand’s international ascent. Its debut Miami appearance led to distribution in key markets across seven countries.

At Miami SwimShow 2009, Rochford reveals Summer 2008/09 – a collection of swimwear that takes you to the world’s most idyllic locations. The new swimwear reflects those travels with a range that is exotic and chic.
