The excitement and buzz is building, the most talked about event is almost here. It’s time to start planning your outfit. The Sunshine Coast Fashion Festival is just around the corner and this year’s event is going to be spectacular. A glittering evening packed full of glamour and style. Not only are iconic Australian Designer Nicola Finetti and Secrets Shhh showing, Australia Zoo will be presenting their ready to wear collection for the first time ever, on the catwalk. As well as these renowned Australian icons, a host of established national and international design talent and new emerging designers will be presenting their latest collections. The 8th annual Sunshine Coast Fashion Festival 2015 is on Saturday 17th October 2015, at the Events Centre, Caloundra, Queensland and is a must see event, for any Fashionista.

The Sunshine Coast Fashion Festival is one of the most exciting and innovative events on the Australian fashion calendar. This elegant evening will present over 25 talented local, national and international designers as they preview their 2016 collections. The shows include couture, ready to wear, ethical design, swim and resort-wear and a trade lounge post and pre show, so you can buy your favourite designs right off the catwalk.

This year’s fashion extravaganza will host Nicola Finetti, Australia Zoo and Secrets Shhh all joining the line up as iconic Australian brands. Other exciting labels include Opera Germany, Sunflair Germany, Kur New York, Anjoreen Couture Nigeria and Robert Kennedy Fiji. As well as Australian labels including Embellished Kaftans, Sets of Seven, Carena Lee Millenary, Flowers by Julia Rose, Hive Swimwear, Cymbeline ART, Bikini Genie, Blossom Betty, Hatha Clothing, Kira Pizzingrilli, Dorothy the Label, Aleks Bridal, Sharka Bosakova, Bruce Bikini and Laila & Spot with more to be announced.

The Sunshine Coast Fashion Festival is the perfect end to the fashion season, offering some much needed respite at the end of hectic international shows. Providing the chance for the fashion industry to unwind against the stunning backdrop of the Sunshine Coast, and sneak a peek at some of the names of the future. Guests can buy designs direct from the catwalk at the Designer Trade Lounge at wholesale prices! The designer trade lounge includes additional brands not showing on the catwalk, such as Mainie, Rani’s Circle, Shay’s Designs, Eco Envy, Empty Bags and Amytis Garden Retreat. Also, charity ‘SHE Rescue Home’ project will be selling their handmade crafts, to support girls rescued from the most horrific circumstances. SHE Rescue Home project will also receive $1 from every ticket sold to the Sunshine Coast Fashion Festival 2015.

Stunning coast local Shannon Guthrie, has just returned from modelling in Milan and will strut the catwalk as the Sunshine Coast Fashion Festival Ambassador. Another local Sunshine Coast identity the gorgeous Rosanna Natoli will bring her glamour and style as the events MC. Australian celebrity Kerrie Friend, blonde hostess of TV’s blockbuster ‘Perfect Match’, ‘Wheel of Fortune’ and now U.S. based lifestyle guru will be on hand on the evening and will be bring along some of her high profile friends. As well event partners Kylie's Professional and Leon Hair will be using their artistic talents and international experience to create breathtaking looks for the models.

Held on Saturday October 17 at the Event Centre Caloundra, the Sunshine Coast Fashion Festival will host a range of national and international designers, catwalk shows and trade lounge so guests can buy direct from the catwalk. The event also incorporates the Sunshine Coast Design Awards and Hall of Fame and the Sunshine Coast Style Awards/Best Dressed List, in addition to model scouting by Vivens Models and an industry Q & A session.

Nicola Finetti will be attending and showcasing breathtaking S/S 16 range. Nicola Finetti is one of Australia’s most talented and leading fashion designers and his collections are worn by celebrities such as Cate Blanchett and Jennifer Hawkins.

Australia Zoo will be showcasing for the first time on the catwalk the Australia Zoo ‘Ready to Wear’ collection. This surprising collection is not going to be what the audience will expect. An exciting debut for the Irwin family and is sure to be a huge hit.

KUR Collections - Direct from New York, KUR are an exciting new addition to the festival line up. Kur Collections are an icon of handmade craft with finer details for the contemporary woman, an expression of freedom and serenity, with buttery soft fabrics and ethereal looks to enchant.

Embellished Kaftans – Born and bred in the colourful Bollywood city of Mumbai, designer Karen Chandwani draws her inspiration from the vibrant colours of India and exotic destinations of Australia. Anjoreen Couture – International Afro-Eccentic label from the wilds of Africa. Anjoreen Couture focuses on flavours, colours and heritage of this wild continent, while creating for the men and women of the next generation. Nigerian Designer Anjorin Babatunde Adeniran award winning label is worn by several African dignitaries and is making its first debut in Australia.

Dorothy the Label is a collection of ethereal designs that will whisk you off to a magical land. Designer, Melissa Petts’ collection Dorothy the Label is one of the hottest new emerging brands from Melbourne, Australia and is making her first a debut at the SCFF.

Aleks Bridal – Aleks bridal is a unique collection of fashion forward bridal gowns and headpieces. Designer Olga Avershynahas’ collection is created using fashion, style and love of detailed lace, handcrafted bead work, smooth silk, shimmering crystals and pure elegance.

Urban Prima - Half French and half Australian Carly Vidal-Wallace designer for Urban Prima creates totally feminine and luxurious collections. Kira Pizzingrilli - Designer Kira Pizzingrilli collection is a natural mix of feminine prints and fashion forward shapes, with a clever twist on classic tailoring. Reflective of a coastal lifestyle with a subtle bohemian feel expressed through tropical prints and a day-to-night wearability.

Sharka Bosakova – This self titled label is an expression of sophisticated and relaxed luxury for contemporary women. Designer, Sharka Bosakova, creates ‘fashion that moulds to the character and stories of our bodies.’

Laila & Spot – Laila & Spot designed to make new mums look and feel great with an exciting range of clothing especially for them. Designer Laila Fernandez, first created Laila & Spot when as a new mum, she became frustrated with the lack of fashionable clothing available for new mothers, that allowed for breastfeeding and the other practical challenges she was facing. The range is environmentally friendly and ethically made.

Sets of Seven Swimwear is the hottest new label on the market by Coolum Beach based designer Tara McNeela. The brand is inspired by the beach and ocean, “Sets of Seven” representing waves rolling in sets of seven - the seventh wave being the biggest - as well as there being seven oceans, seven continents and a set of bikinis.

Noosa local Hive Swimwear will preview their latest collection in sports fashion swimwear for the surf and pool. Showing for the 8th year in a row, Hive is a Sunshine Coast success story, now available in over 100 stores across Australia, online and in 20 stores within Europe. The cuts and styles improve functionality and customisation allowing for the perfect fit, and the label has since expanded to sell an ultra chlorine resistant collection.

Bikini Genie Designer Karlah Condon’s collection of glitzy, street, glamour and in your face styling, is sure to turn heads on the catwalk. Bikini Genie is for the woman who demands to be noticed and the life of the party.

Blossom Betty is eccentric femme attire with a vintage heart. We dare you to put on a piece from Blossom Betty and not swing your hips. Blossom Betty is brought to you by another Sunshine Coast local, Indigenous designer Leearna Saunders and she will be showing at SCFF for the 6th year running.

Cymbeline ART is where the painter’s canvas meets fashion. Picasso, tribal art and Central American culture inspiration colourfully painted onto rugged denim canvas, jeans and clothing that tell their own story. Originally from Bundaberg, Natalie Ing, will be showcasing her Cymbeline ART label at the SCFF for the first time this year.

Flowers by Julia Rose will captivate with stunning floral creations worn as garments on the catwalk. Based in Sleepy Hollow, NSW, the brand is an ecological and ethical label that proudly uses organic/natural materials. Witness the show-stopping, natural wonderment that is Flowers by Julia Rose at Sunshine Coast Fashion Festival.

Hatha Clothing is for all Yogi’s. Modern and stylish Yoga and Active-wear based on the Sunshine Coast and created by Brazilian native Paula Magrani.
