:: Spotlight :: The Race To Sustainability continues into 2005

For several years Mediasearch has supported the Sustainable Living Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to bringing together the vision and practical solutions for sustainable living. The 2005 Sustainable Living Festival is Australia’s foremost sustainable living event that draws together the resources of commercial, non-profit and government organisations in the one place. It is also the forum for leaders in industry, the arts and innovation – bringing together the vision and practical solutions for sustainable living. The six living themes of the festival Think, Feel, Create, Design, Feast, and Play reflect the vision, passion, art, function, taste and thrill of sustainable living.

The 2005 Sustainable Living Festival will be held at Federation Square over the weekend February 18–20, 2005.
Showcasing a broad range of environmentally friendly ideas, reflecting and playing with the Foundation’s living themes, the festival will see over 200 exhibitors, 50 artists, more than 40 performances and around 100 workshops
and seminars in six presentation spaces.

Victorian Environment Minister John Thwaites said, “"The community increasingly recognises the importance of sustainability. This festival has enjoyed tremendous growth and is playing an important role in further raising
community awareness about the need to live more harmoniously with the environment."
Melbourne’s Lord Mayor John So added, ‘The 2005 Sustainable Living Festival will continue to showcase ways that people can make a difference to our global condition. Here in Melbourne, we are proud to be a world leader in
sustainable development at a local government level’.

The 2005 Sustainable Living Festival will continue to provide the information, connections, links and networks for anybody who wishes to be involved in the positive changes in our world today.

**CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS**

The Sustainable Living Festival is only possible thanks to the effort of hundreds of volunteers. Their enthusiasm and creativity are crucial in bringing the Festival to life. Organisers rely on volunteers, the diversity of their skills and their boundless energy, in a huge range of interesting and challenging roles.
Get involved in the Sustainable Living Festival as a volunteer, make friends, have fun and make contribution to sustainability. The next information session will be:
