More than 700 women in glamorous racewear ushered in the new season in fabulous style at Flemington’s annual Myer Spring Fashion Lunch. International style icon Jerry Hall commanded the most attention at the celebrity-laden event, which also featured Myer Ambassadors Kris Smith, Laura Dundovic and Lauren Phillips, Myer designer Yeojin Bae and milliner Kim Fletcher.

Leading designers Leona Edmiston and Jayson Brunsdon were on hand to provide the lunching ladies with expert racewear tips two days out from the spring’s first feature raceday, Flemington’s Sofitel Girls’ Day Out. A lavish Myer fashion parade - featuring Jayson Brunsdon Black Label, Leona Edmiston, Arthur Galan AG, Nicola Finetti, Jane Lamerton, Basque, Estelle, Jeff Banks, Anthea Crawford and Cue - showcased the season’s trends of monochrome, geometrics, florals and bold colours such as yellow, tangerine, and coral.

Model and accomplished horse enthusiast Rebecca Bramich, recently unveiled as the 2013 Myer Fashions on the Field Ambassador, made her first official appearance in the role, opening the parade walking alongside Flemington regular Kris Smith.

Hosted by Channel Seven’s Luke Jacobz from The X-Factor and Kylie Gillies from The Morning Show, the official Melbourne Spring Fashion Week event featured live performances by The X-Factor stars Samantha Jade and Jiordan Tolli. Kate Waterhouse, an official Friend of Emirates Melbourne Cup maker, Hardy Brothers, unveiled the 2013 trophy, which is made of solid 18-carat yellow gold and valued at $175,000.
