:: an ode to no oneBy: Carmine PascuzziDesigner and director of “an ode to no one” Adi has always been interested in using clothing as a tool to create and portray one‘s self-image to the public. Originally from Indonesia, Adi left his home country to pursue design after deciding a career in criminology wasn't his true calling. After studying at Sydney's Whitehouse School of Design, Adi worked for Akira Isogawa from 2002-2004, and then gained the position of Head Designer for Nicola Finetti's diffusion label 'Nylon Flocks’ from 2004-2008. Under his creative direction, ‘Nylon Flocks’ developed as a great success, with placement in 25 MYER stores nationally and over 80 stores worldwide including Harrods London, New York 's Scoop and Sauce in Dublin. The name “an ode to no one” came about describing both the designers feeling of being disconnected from one's surroundings, thereby creating an individual self-image, and also the way society portrays itself. After realising that many people living in this society feel socially isolated either by their look or dress - this inspired him to design clothing that gave them an opportunity to express themselves freely, The label's chief market is the fashion-savvy female who loves to dress up and have a good time whilst looking effortlessly chic and stylish. Now “an ode to no one” presents a Spring Summer collection bursting with vivacity and colour, with unique and wearable pieces that can be arranged to suit anyone's stylistic interpretation. The future is certain for this designer; an ode to no one is the perfect poetic collection for anyone's wardrobe.
