:: Bless’ed Are The Meek

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

With a lookbook styled by Oracle Fox blog’s uber-talented fashion wunderkind Mandy Shadforth, and featuring hot Australian model-on-the-rise Anna Louise Hudson, Bless’ed Are The Meek’s High Summer “Festival” collection has some serious fashion street-cred. Inspired by Woodstock and the independent spirit of the bohemian movement, the collection is equal parts glam-rock offspring and hippy love-child, with pieces that let you channel your inner 1970’s goddess.

“Festival” by Bless’ed Are The Meek is reminiscent of counter-cultural legends and icons of eras past. Think silk-feel dresses in fluid fabrics, quirky-cool playsuits, trapeze tanks with Navaho and Aztec inspired motifs, graphic prints, patchwork and fringing, intricate crochet detail and tough-luxe hardware embellishment for a inspired take on boho-blend styling. The range is vibrant but wearable, pairing rich, earthy tones with a paired back neutral palette and butter-soft denim. A skillful mash-up of iconic and cultural influences and rock-chick chic, “Festival” by Bless’ed Are The Meek will carry you through the summer in effortless style.

Bless’ed Are The Meek’s High Summer “Festival” collection will be available from December at David Jones and boutique retailers.

In further exciting news, Bless’ed Are The Meek is set to take the United States by storm, launching onto the world’s biggest fashion stage and into the wardrobes of America’s anxiously awaiting fashionistas.

From January 2012, Bless’ed Are The Meek will be sharing coveted hanging space with designer threads by Alexander Wang, Vena Cava, Elizabeth and James and fellow expatriate sass + bide in 30 of the US’s most exclusive boutiques, including American Rag, Planet Blue, Westerly, Wasteland and Big Drop in Seattle, Houston, Chicago and Miami, as well as along the hallowed fashion strips of shopping Meccas Los Angeles and New York.

Bless’ed Are The Meek’s US launch collection is a contemporary and inspired take on summer’s hottest trends. The range is vibrant and exciting, pairing bold pops of colour with a paired back neutral palette, textural and flowing fabrics with tough-luxe hardware embellishments, and featuring graphic and psychedelic prints, Aztec goddess inspired motifs, sheer cut-outs, directional glam rock styling and feminine draping. Elizabeth Hehir from the label’s American fashion agency The SYDNY said the response to Bless’ed Are The Meek in the US has been overwhelming, "Every buyer, stylist and editor went nuts for it! They said it was one of the best collections they had ever seen. There are so many Australian designers trying to make it in the States, but Bless’ed really seemed to stand on its own and rise above the competition.”

The label is set to rival the international designer fashion market in both quality and affordability, striking the perfect balance between innovation and wearability while still maintaining the elements it is devoted to: quality of fabric and design, ensuring chic and edgy sartorialism that doesn’t require a sacrificial limb in return for ownership. Australian women can get their hands on Bless’ed Are The Meek at David Jones and selected boutiques across the country before it drops in US stores in the new year. A skillful mash-up of the new season’s must-have looks, Bless’ed Are The Meek is guaranteed to inject a little Australian edge into the US fashion field.
