:: Carlo Carli - Winter 2008 - This GentlemanBy: Carmine PascuzziFollowing his supreme debut in David Jones, Carlo Carli’s second season for the prestigious department store is his Winter 2008 collection entitled This Gentleman. The range further cements Carlo’s place amongst Australia’s finest menswear designers. Carlo Carli offers distinctive designs for the fashion savvy wearer and this season he brings a whole new look and mode to his range. Carlo’s conviction is to “never compromise your own style to fit in.” From self-inspired ideas comes a forceful vision. For Winter 08 Carlo draws inspiration from a library. He draws on the wisdom and information that a library possesses, injecting this quality into his designs. Each tie is uniquely handcrafted and satin lined in signature yellow. Luxurious silk and wool blends make a sleek appearance this season; giving the range a more textured softer look. Colours are deep, bright and bold warm tones prefect for the cooler months. Ties remain narrow this season. Illustrating his fashion forwardness Carlo has shifted the blade even further this season making ties as narrow as 5cm to remain right on trend. Highlight pieces from the range include an ornamental paisley printed tie; which starts with a dark base and builds into an explosive burst of colour at the nape of the neck. Utilising metallics - one of the season’s hottest trends - Carlo has added both silver and gold injections into the line. A silver, black and white very narrow tie is certain to be a hit amongst modern fashion-forward men. The regimental stripe tie is another key piece in the range, forever a classic with invariable appeal for the corporate buyer. Carlo says “I am inspired by men that enjoy their own sense of style; and this collection extends my thank-you to them for being my collective muse.” All ties are exclusively designed by Carlo Carli and are in full collaboration with one of Italy’s finest tie manufacturers. The joint force signifies true Carlo Carli design, inspiration and styling to create an exceptional merge with fine Italian fabrics and craftsmanship. |
