:: ‘A Night Of Fashion’ - fashion for a causeBy: Tarsh Butler‘A Night Of Fashion’ was a night of inspiration. A group of five Bond University students organised and put on an unforgettable charity event to raise funds for The Ronald McDonald House while showcasing emerging Gold Coast fashion designers. The night was a sold out event and was held in the function room at the Bond University campus. The night showcased the vibrant collections of up and coming Gold Coast fashion designers: Begitta; Vincija; Lauren O’Toole; Vintage May; Jimmi Paige; Ashlee Heart Designs; Melina Hollway; Ane & Hal and Alice Nightingale. The host of night was a male cross dresser added spice and life to the night. The Ane & Hal collection was a contemporary spin of vintage style. The self taught designer stood out on the night with her collection of dresses each designed to compliment the female body. The Jimmi Page collection was inspired by modern vintage and the use of recycled materials for both male and females. Ashlee Heart’s black and golden sequin corset stood out as being the most glamorous garment of the night. The night ended with an auction where the designers each provided a piece of their collection to be sold for charity. The night raised approximately $3000 for the charity, with a Melina Holloway glamorous dress a sure favourite for the evening being auctioned for almost $500. The Gold Coast’s leading model management Sass and Bentley attended as well as socialites and fashion lovers. Everything about the night was reflected true ambition from the organisers and the designers.
