:: New to Australia - Fluxus

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

US design label Fluxus has hit the Australian market. Fluxus specialises in avant-garde basics including tops, dresses, jackets and pants, while combining various fabrics, washes, geometric prints, metallic stitching and asymmetrical cuts.

Fluxus takes its name from one of the most radical and experimental art movements of the 60’s which involved an international network of artists, composers and designers noted for blending different artistic media and discipline and who rejected the traditional notion of art at the time and claimed that “everything is art.” The term Fluxus (originally taken from a Latin word) literally means “to flow” – an attitude and lifestyle that is prevalent in the label’s sophisticated and modern designs. Celebrating the relationship between everyday life and art while blending and connecting different artistic media, the brand aims to truly embody the ‘Fluxus’ spirit – intermingling different philosophies, cultures, languages and experiences with fashion as the main focus.

While only being a newcomer to Australia, Fluxus already has over 50 proud stockists across Australia. Fluxus has established a strong celebrity following in the US which includes a number of fashion’s opinion leaders including Sienna Miller, Heidi Klum, and Hillary Duff all of whom have recently donned the label’s fresh designs. Having enjoyed such incredible success overseas, Fluxus now hopes to capture the imagination and appeal to all Australian’s who recognise that fashion is as unique as the people who wear it. Fluxus is uncomplicated yet unique and an extension of the individual.
