Melbourne’s mini fashionistas can now dress with European flair as boutique Kam Otto unveils its new IKKS KIDS collection direct from France. IKKS KIDS is a beautiful and aspirational French designer label that offers miniaturised styling for boys and girls aged from two to eight years that’s drawn from and inspired by its own ultra-chic adult collections. Expect the same attention to detail and the same exquisite fabrics with a slightly baroque twist that IKKS’ adult collectionsare renowned for.

The new season IKKS KIDS collection for Spring/ Summer melds purples, oranges, blues and soft pinks with the labels’ signature neutral palette of greys, blacks, anthracite, white, mastic and pearl while also tying in a check fabric in shades of the softest caramel, brown and ivory. The theme for IKKS boys draws on US college style – think fresh stripes and sporty styling - with a little English Pop flavour thrown in for a hipper-than-hip spin on the campus spirit, and all in a universe of neutral colours and earthy tones in sharp and edgy designs that will put a twinkle in any boy’s eye.

Girls go summery in a technicolour clash of cultures and styles that’s a sublime foil to IKSS KIDS’ more usual and authentic shades of grey and khaki. Some retro-inspired designs are so particularly gorgeous that Kam Otto confidently predicts they will become favourite wardrobe items for the most stylish and fashion-conscious little girls that will still be treasured long after they’ve been outgrown.

The Basikks collection for both boys and girls takes on a sophisticated urban look with fitted shapes in neutral colours alongside the tiniest dash of brighter hues to reflect IKKS’ omnipresent playful side. Other IKSS story collections for girls that will be instore at Kam Otto include Urban, Origin, Multi-themes, Ambiance and Mouvement while boys find inspiration in City, Collector, Vintage and Jean’s Store Factory.

Dresses, tunics and tees with varying sleeve lengths in superb prints and plain fabrics work with leggings, jackets and matching accessories to run across all themes for girls and can be mixed and matched to suit while boys’ stories feature denim, cargoes, shirts, polo tees, singlets and deconstructed jackets.
