:: Mooks opens new Sydney flagship store

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

May 2008 saw the latest evolution of the Mooks brand when it re-opened the doors on its newly renovated Sydney flagship store at The Galleries Victoria. Architect designed, the new look Mooks store represents the edge and innovation that has characterised Mooks and enabled it to keep its image fresh and exciting after such a long time at the top of the streetwear tree.

Mooks is the original Australian streetwear brand and since opening its first store on Chapel Street, Melbourne in 1992, has spread its wings around the Globe to include retail presence in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and South Africa.

Mooks is a brand that prides itself on its ability to surprise and it is constantly evolving. The original line of t-shirt designs that mixed a tongue in cheek twist of pop art, Japanese comicx, US college sports and graphic design has grown, 17 years later into a serious street fashion brand. We've never lost the ideal of creating for like minded people and we've remained true to the devilish wit and love of ideas as represented in the iconic horned lightbulb logo.

It’s about that sublime space where fashion, art, graphic, ideas and music merge - It doesn't look like any other Mooks store but that's sort of the point isn't it?
