Young talent Anita Gray of Sugar Suite, Newcastle NSW, was recently announced as the 2010 winner of the Redken Future Colour Competition, held at Neverland in South Melbourne.

The Redken Future Colour Competition is one of the hairdressing industry’s most celebrated and anticipated awards, that seeks out emerging young talent from around Australia and nurtures their career to stardom. Over 400 national beauty professionals and VIP guests arrived to celebrate.

An amazing opportunity for all aspiring colourists, Anita Gray took home over $70,000 in prizes, including a trip to New York City during New York Fashion Week, her own editorial shoot in a consumer magazine and her winning look featured on the cover of a leading hairdressing magazine.

The runner up was awarded to Phoebe Hill, of Blow It’s a Hair Thing, Adelaide SA who will have the chance to see her work published in an editorial shoot for one of Australia’s leading hairdressing magazines.

All eight national finalists exhibited their brilliant colour work on stage with their models strutting down the catwalk for a live fashion show to performance by DJ Dean Cherny, ARIA award winning artist Grant Smillie and ARIA nominated, Zoe Badwi - an intoxicating mix of music talent that kept the party going all night long.
