Shu Uemura - the makeup label light years ahead of modernity - was the first to create lashes as a seasonal item. At the launch of 2010’s Tokyo lash bar – I was captivated to witness the naissance of the new age in lashes: reflectors. A sculptural telescopic construction, these reflectors flirt with light. It’s a paradox of an optical illusion. This look is Milla Jovovich in Fifth Element – perhaps her long lost Japanese sister.
