:: Style Network’s Fashion Expert Jeannie Mai Transforms Australia’s Worst Dressed WomanBy: Carmine Pascuzzi
Style’s popular fashion intervention series “How Do I Look?” recently travelled down-under to tackle the task of finding Australia’s worst dressed woman. Host and fashion expert, Jeannie Mai, scoured the country tracking down one stylistically-challenged lady in Bronte, Sydney. Bridget is a mother-of-two, obsessed with the 80’s and in desperate need of a fashion overhaul by Jeannie and her team of experts who convince her that it’s time to say farewell to the unflattering fluorescents and tasteless tights. In true “How Do I Look?” fashion, Jeannie and her team of experienced stylists meet with Bridget to analyse her fashion choices and get to the bottom of why she chooses to dress this way and what she wants to achieve out of life. With the beautiful Sydney Harbour Bridge landmark in the background, the team sort through this fashion victim’s offending wardrobe and each member selects one item of clothing which is then disposed of through the ‘Ewww Tube’ – a device that sucks clothes up through the ceiling and into oblivion! Jeannie then tutors Bridget on the fundamentals of personal style and dressing for your body type. After they hit the shops and a variety of ensembles are pulled together, Bridget is treated to a brand new hair style and beauty makeover. With this new confidence, it’s time for Bridget’s dramatic reveal in front of the iconic, Sydney Opera House, showcasing to friends and family her exclusive “How Do I Look?” transformation. As a well-known fashion expert and experienced make-up artist, Jeannie Mai has worked with music royalty such as Christina Aguilera and Alicia Keys, as well as actress Rosario Dawson. For her challenging assignment down under, Jeannie called upon one of Australia’s most noteworthy stylists, Kelly Smythe. Kelly is often commissioned to style A-List celebrities, thespians and musicians visiting Australia. Having previously worked as Head Stylist for the Channel Seven Network, Kelly has also worked with A-List Australian celebrities including; Chris Bath, Isabel Lucas and Chris Hemsworth. Since starting her own freelance styling company, Kelly has worked with Jennifer Hawkins, Miranda Kerr, Megan Gale, Delta Goodrem as well as International talent Kelly Rowland, Rihanna and Eva Longoria. Together, Jeannie and Kelly prove they can solve any fashion disaster! Don’t miss the Australian production premiere of How Do I Look? |
