:: Melody Time

This film was made in 1948. It’s a collection of 7 shorts and is considered the last of the anthology features of little-known features produced during World War II. These shorts contrast in length and style, but the common theme is that vocalists of the 1940s presented the music. The ‘Pecos Bill’ piece, at 22 minutes and that stars Roy Rogers, is the longest short on the DVD.

The audio and video quality is generally satisfying with the audio showing the dated feel of other 1940s Disney films. The musical numbers are old recordings so it doesn’t surprise that they don’t leap out at you.
