“I try and do different kinds of films to be useful in different genres, therefore play different types of characters in different genres. My motivation has always been continuously to make the best movie I can of a particular film script.”

People get to follow your progression, your story so its just natural that people come to think of you as a friend because they see you go through all of your ups and downs. Emma is one of those characters that is very angelic and very perfect and sweet, so I guess Jeffrey’s experience with her is what you can expect from a lot of fans.”

La Vie En Rose is directed by Olivier Dahan, and the cast includes Marion Cotillard, Gérard Depardieu, and Jean-Paul Rouve. The film is released in Australia on July 12, 2007.

Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll - Cheri Lovedog has lived the life.

The film ‘Prey for Rock and Roll’ gives a snapshot of her extraordinary life. She has written the screenplay, most of the songs, and rocks out playing guitar on the soundtrack.

Thunderstruck is a new Australian film about a group of close mates who, after sharing a pact, travel across Australia with the remains of their dead school friend in the hope of burying him next to their rock idol, Bon Scott, the original lead singer of AC/DC.

“It wasn’t hard in execution. We didn’t want to get into long tracks about specific issues of Australian immigration policy or how the sex trafficking works in Australia. They exist as a couple of threads in what is a much more complicated sort of fabric. I didn’t want to hit audiences over the head with political themes and ideas.”

The highly anticipated Australian documentary Big Dreamers premiered at the Bondi Openair Cinema, in Sydney, recently.

Million Dollar Baby scored the top accoldates at the 2005 Academy Awards, taking Best Film, Best Director for Clint Eastwood, Best Actress for Hilary Swank and Best Supporting Actor for Morgan Freeman.

The main theme of the film is unity and diversity. All these cultures can exist together. This is a good theme for people to appreciate – one sixth of the world’s population living in a certain way and it’s important to acknowledge it.

“I did not physically storyboard myself, I got someone else to do it, but I did storyboard in a very rudimentary fashion because I was doing all the pre-production in Sydney –where I did all of my storyboarding – but we shot the film in Adelaide. So I storyboarded the kind of how I saw the blocking of certain things in my mind, but I couldn’t story board exactly, because we didn’t have locations, we didn’t have any of that, so quite often I had to throw the story boards out and start again. But with the opening with the cart wheeling, that was all exact to the storyboards.”

Film Victoria recently celebrated the amazing contribution that Simpson Le Mesurier has made to the Victorian film and television industry over the past 25 years at a special lunch.

“The production problems were caused by the Italian Anti-Defamation League which had shut down early production of the film in New York. Paramount Pictures was bought by Gulf & Western. The last thing they wanted was problems and there were rumours that the whole thing would shut down. That’s when I got involved to make it work. Egotistically, I wanted this film to come out.”

“Being the lead in it came with a little bit of pressure. If you are not at all likeable or if the audience doesn’t like your character or at least understands him, then the whole experience as a movie goer can be boring. So there was that sort of pressure. But over all it was such a lovely experience to work with really nice people who want to be there and help each others performances.”

The Australian Film Institute (AFI) is delighted to announce that the Feature Film category for the 2005 AFI Awards has now been finalised, with sixteen Australian feature films entered in competition.

Owen was immediately drawn to this version of the classic character “because it was such a radical take on the whole story and I didn't feel any of the weight of responsibility for it.”

“But the great thing about Jude is that he’s got a great career ahead of him, and I think as his looks becomes less significant part of the package, our interest in him as an actor will rise rather than fall.”

“I didn’t want this to fall to the same level as American genre movies, because you can’t compete with them. I wanted to do something different, so I thought ‘I’ll go in the other direction. I’ll cast really normal looking actors – people that are attractive but also look like people you know, like someone you might have grown up with. I think by doing that, it makes it more personal with the audience. We believe the story a little more and so we go into that horror more. That’s what I was planning.”
