:: Spotlight :: Movie Trailer - The French Kissers

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

One of the films set for the holiday season in Australia is The French Kissers. Direct from France, where it was the breakout comedy hit of the 2009 Cannes International Film Festival (Directors Fortnight) and achieved over one million admissions in its first eight weeks of release, this film is a rollicking tale of a pair of teens who are far removed from the cool crowd, as they suffer the endless embarrassments and minor triumphs of their first sexual longings.

The debut feature of acclaimed graphic artist Riad Sattouf, and featuring applauded performances by newcomers Vincent Lacoste and Anthony Sonigo, adroitly supported by Emmanuelle Devos, Noemie Lvonksy, Irene Jacob and Valeria Golino, The French Kissers is fresh, smart, and absolutely unabashed in its depictions of the humiliations of youth and the trials of parenthood.

It opens in Australia on Boxing Day, December 26 and is distributed by Palace Films. It is rated MA (15+)
