Every summer, Australia’s most beautiful parks and gardens are transformed into an outdoor cinema spectacular for Ford Fiesta Moonlight Cinema, which screens a collection of new release, classic and cult films for all to enjoy.

Hidden in the depths of the spectacular Royal Botanic Gardens, Ford Fiesta Moonlight Cinema is again set to be the star attraction on Melbourne’s summer entertainment calendar. Adjacent to the Yarra River and within easy walking distance of the Melbourne CBD, the Royal Botanic Gardens is a picturesque location for outdoor cinema, surrounded by tranquil lakes, towering trees and stunning vistas.

The big screen will light up on Thursday, December 11, 2008 with the much anticipated opening night preview screening of Vicky Cristina Barcelona starring Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz and Scarlett Johansson. The season will run until Sunday, March 15, 2009.

Ford Fiesta Moonlight Cinema’s program is a feast for any film buff. You can take a romantic trip down memory lane with traditional favourite Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Or if hot new releases are more your scene, don’t miss Brad Pitt in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, or get engrossed in the true story of a heist gone wrong in The Bank Job.

If 007 is more your speed, get the adrenalin pumping as Daniel Craig returns to the big screen in the latest James Bond instalment The Quantum of Solace; or for a night of side-splitting laughter, you can’t go wrong with Brad Pitt and George Clooney in the Coen brothers’ Burn After Reading. You can even let your inner fashionista out of the closest for a night on the town with Carrie and her friends with the big screen hit of 2008, Sex and the City.

Ford Fiesta Moonlight Cinema also continues its commitment to celebrating cult and classic favourites like Top Gun, Donnie Darko: the Director’s Cut, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Wizard of Oz and everyone’s favourite opportunity to strike a pose, Zoolander.

An evening at Ford Fiesta Moonlight Cinema is the perfect combination of all your favourite entertainment options. Gather a group of friends, cram a hamper full of delicious picnic fare for a bit of alfresco dining, then kick back as the sun goes down and the screen lights up. And the hamper-challenged needn’t despair. If whipping up a gourmet feast leaves you cold, on site catering is on hand with a great selection of food. And of course there’s a fantastic range of wine, beer and other beverages. Spread out a picnic rug or nestle up in a bean bed and discover there’s more than one way to get up close and personal with the stars!

Tickets are available online or at the gate and range from $13 - $17. For the cheapest tickets, go online. If you want to add a real sparkle to your night, splurge on Gold Grass luxury ticket package. Bean beds are also available for hire. Gates open at 7.00pm with screenings at around 8.30pm.

On Tuesday, January 20, Ford Fiesta Moonlight Cinema presents a very special preview screening of BUSTIN’ DOWN THE DOOR, which will be introduced by the star, surfing legend Shaun Tomson.

BUSTIN’ DOWN THE DOOR chronicles a tumultuous two-year period of competitive and cultural clashes in the mid-Seventies in surfing's Mecca - Hawaii's North Shore of Oahu – as a small crew of Australians and South Africans set out with attitude and determination to change the world of surfing.
