:: Spotlight :: Melbourne Red Carpet Premiere of the film 'North Country'

By: Carmine Pascuzzi

A touch of Hollywood glamour reached the Rivoli Cinemas in Camberwell recently. Everything was delicately organised for traffic, passers-by, and the crowd of fans as hundreds showed up to the front of the cinemas to see one person - Academy Award-winning actress CHARLIZE THERON. She was on promotional duties in Sydney and Melbourne for her latest film “North Country”, which is directed by Niki Caro (of ‘Whale Rider’ fame). Charlize has come a long way from her sentimental role in Mighty Joe Young and is now a big-time Hollywood star.

From her very individual outfit at the recent Golden Globe Awards, Charlize decided that shorts (made by Stella McCartney) was the way to be comfortable in the warm Melbourne climate. She cut a very sexy figure in walking the Red Carpet and was greeted by many fans. She last visited Melbourne alongside her boyfriend Stuart Townsend, walking the Black Carpet at the premiere of “Queen Of The Dammed” at the Myer Music Bowl. Stuart couldn't return the favour this time as he is currently in Canada shooting the film Chaos Theory.
